The Warlord kit looks more accurate overall, although I haven't bought one yet. The Rubicon kit has a couple of issues; I mentioned them in my Rubicon review thread: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/60/622476.page#7736351. However, the Rubicon kit comes with a lot more options, including the later roof (with remote-control machine gun) and cast mantlet which featured on late versions of the StuG. I also rather like Rubicon's simplified tracks and running gear.

Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Hi guys, would like to say hello to all fellow gamers.
I`m currently into Bolt Action and painted some stuff already.
Now awaiting my 3rd army - Russians. I was wondering if anybody can compare Wargames factory russians to BA miniatures. Compatibility issues?
cheers

I have three boxes of wargames factory Russians. Can't beat the price to quality ratio. I like them. But overall the BA stuff is more detailed and better.

In my opinion the recent plastic Russians in winter uniforms are hard to beat. Nicely sculpted (provided you're okay with Warlord's 'heroic' style), and the heads have a lot of character. Plus, many of them are in greatcoats, which always looks good.

What scource did you base the M8 inscription on? The Marvel character was only created in 1971, so the WW2 USMC wouldn't have known about him.

Yeah i know that the comic character wasn't created until much later. But I figured "Swamp" and "Thing" were not too far departed from what an m8 on a Pacific Isle would be named. His partner is going to be named "Hell Boy". I really like history!...But I like toys better.

GEF German Expenditionery Force, Even though i think Fallschrimjager would be a more approriate.
Kinda like are favorite scenario for ww2, what if JApan would HAve sent a Carrier fleet to Mid east or the Med and also if Hitler would have had Carriers or atlest finished the one he had.
Also here is of my favorite ww2 Tidbits
"In WWII King George VI was at war with Nazi Germany as King of the UK, but as King of Ireland he was at peace with Germany and validated the credentials of German ambassadors. After WWII he was at war with himself as King of Pakistan and separately King of India."

King of Ireland? That's kinda debateable... Depends how you view the Irish Free State and its president.

I though the Irish Free State came to an end in 1937, so it couldn't have been around when Britain was at war with Germany in WW2

tps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_head_of_state_from_1936_to_1949
Interesting since my great Grandparents on my mothers side were Irish.Grimwood and Smith was the last name,My grandfather side was Black Irish. I still hear the bad rascist jokes about that one.

My Grandfather on my dad's side was Irish too. But the only only military work his did was arming planes for the RAF (from WW2 to the 1970s IIRC), never actually fighting in combat. My mother's side Grandfather did serve in the Polish army during the German invasion of the country before escaping to England (not sure if he joined the free Polish or something else after) though.
