Fluff wise, GK hate the concept of bring entombed in a Dreadnought, preferring to die in combat rather than living on in a crippled state, hence a low count of GK Dreadnoughts.

True, but you would think that if we have to turn one of the heroic fallen into a living death state to continue the fight against Chaos, it would be something more potent than the Angry Washing Machine.

Indeed. In point of fact, not have GK Librarian Dreads is a travesty, and the best example that GW has no clue what their audience actually wants. If they gave us real Psyker Dreads, not the weak sauce we got, GW would not be able to keep them in stock ... well, not any more than they seem be able to keep anything in stock ... just say'n.
