It's not like releasing a later product to enhance an earlier one is a phenomena unique to FFG games. It's been around for years, has been part of pretty much every CCG I've ever played, and seems to be where the core business model of Games Workshop is moving (in selling a new Codex for every army every 2-3 years).
True, but this isn't a CCG nor a GW game. There are no codexes or anything of that sort and the designers have said they need to work within the bounds of what is out there already, which to me says there is no intention of releasing a ver2.0 of the game.

My comment was aimed toward complaints about releasing cards in later sets that do well with earlier ones? Like Advanced stuff in the Raider. Zero desire for a cards only or version 2.

I do think that a Gozanti Freighter would be the perfect Imperial answer to the Rebel Transport.

Now that season one is finished I went through and figured out exactly what ships they could make in X-wing.

Small:
Rebels:
Auzituck gunship (Wookie gunship)
Phantom shuttle (Unlikely, as its mostly used as a stealth transport rather than a fighter)

Imperial:
Tie Advanced Prototype.

Large:
Rebels:
VCX-100 Light Freighter

Imperial:
Sentinel Landing Craft (Unlikely, as it's redundant with the Imperial Shuttle)

Large/Huge (It's pretty much straddling the line)

Imperial: Gozanti-class freighter
Scum: Gozanti-class C-ROC freighter (Several versions used by Hutts and smugglers appear in the series.)

Huge:
Imperial:
Arquitens-class light cruiser (Imperial shuttle docks with one in episode 12 and it's clearly the same size as the CR-90)

Most likely to get models are the VCX-100 and the Imperial Gozanti-class.

Today at a trade show FFG announced that their Star Wars licence had been extended for a significant period of time and that the the first Episode 7 products would be announced in Autumn.

They also announced the 2nd Wave for Armada (includes Imperial Star Destroyers) and the first expansion for Imperial Assault (featuring Boba Fett). Full details are on the FFG forums.

So it looks like we can breathe a sigh of relief. The Star Wars games aren't going away anytime soon.

Ah dang. Here I was hoping that FFG would take over the Star Trek license if they lost the Star Wars one.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?
