Well I like the discussion and it seems like the consensus is run the Decurion list. Once I grab my IPad with battlescribe on it I'll see about moving some points around and what I can come up with. I'm definitely taking one unit of immortals and their night scythe out, I might play with the wraiths a bit, and I guess I'll just keep my eye out for more tomb blades. Maybe I could fit in a Judicator battalion if I move some points. Then I'd have a harvest for tarpitting close combat units, a battalion to hunt down terminators and the like, a deathbringer flight to pop vehicles, and a reclamation legion to keep them all alive longer.

Alright things are coming together and I'm working things out. After suggestions, and maybe my desire to run the Judicator because it looks like fun and I've always had a problem with 2+ armor saves, this is a list that I've worked out.

Decurion Detachment.

Reclamation Legion
Overlord w/ phase shifter

5 Immortals in a Night Scythe

2X 10 warriors + Ghost Arks

3 Tomb Blades w/ shield vanes and Nebuloscopes

Deathbringer Flight
2X Doom Scythes

Canoptek Harvest
Spyder w/ TL Particle Beamer

3 Wraiths w/ whip coils

3 Scarabs

Judicator Battalion
Triarch Stalker

2X 5 Praetorians w/ rods

That comes out to 1830, I've got a few wargear options I could do. Warscythe on the overlord, extra scarab base, one extra immortal, gloom prism on the Spyder, or TL heavy gauss on the stalker. If you guys/gals really don't think I should run the Judicator I could make my Overlord a barge and fiddle some other things in there. Maybe even another Ghost ark? What do you Dakkaheads think? Also should I have my immortals walk and take the night scythe with some praetorians for re roll shenanigans?

What are you gonna be playing against mostly? The rods on praetorians will do squat to knights or vehicles. Will still need 6's to wound wraith knights at which point particle caster/void blade is a better option. More attacks and still ap when wounding anything with t7. More importantly can hurt imperial knights. 6 wraiths with coils can kill a knight before it swings if your lucky. If your meta is infantry heavy and shuns knights then rods could be better. 5-man units will get focus fired easily, try 8-10.

All the top meta lists are going to probably be there (Flyrants, Adlances, serpent spam, centStar, etc.) but also some other decurion lists probably, maybe a handful of new harlequins, and then anyone else's home brews.

I don't know if you're like some pro player or someone who just has been around the hobby a lot but just seeing someone who has over eleven thousand posts say my list looks good just makes a newb like me feel good. Thanks.

So where would you suggest throwing those last 20 points? Is a warscythe better than the heavy gauss cannon plus a gloom prism? Is it worth it to throw an extra model in a unit? Is there something else worth twenty points I could grab?

I would drop the Particle Beamer on the Spyder. Having a gun means you want to shoot, which means you want him in LoS of the enemy. However you really don't want him in LoS of the enemy ever!

That gives you 30 points so you could swap the Lord over to 2+ and Warscythe to give his unit a bit of counter assault. Or just get more tomb blades.

I would personally just drop the min harvest in favor of more tomb blades (when stores get them back in stock) and/or more praetorians.

I like the Harvest it does a great job of area denial and Tarpitting

First test game with the final(ish) list went swimmingly. First off I'm going to mention that I used the last twenty points to add one immortal to the squad. My reasoning was just having the extra wound on my Warlord squad just to make it a little more difficult to get StW. Looking back I'm debating between a warscythe or an extra scarab base as the immortal squad is usually just in the night scythe most the game and jumping on a last minute objective. As far as the Beamer goes I will toy with it because my idea was less of actually shooting and more of "I wanna keep you safe in the back field so maybe with a gun you can actually do something." Which in this game he did nothing but run forward grab a relic and hide so I could probably save the points.

Anyway I played against a vehicle spamming IG list with Pask and his squadron, a manticore, a basilisk, like four chimeras, two vendettas, and whatever the weird twelve shot barrage mortar thing is. The missions were two relics that score three VP's at the end of the game and three maelstrom type objectives that you roll to see which one you need at the beginning of the turn and score at the end of the turn (game turn to be precise).

Standouts of the game
The Triarch Stalker with target designated was phenomenal! Killed a chimera turn one, a vendetta turn two, another chimera turn three, a Leman Russ turn four. The target designated heat ray is one of my favorite things in the game right now.

Wraiths as a three man squad worked just as well as a four or five man and munched anything that got out of the chimeras. Plus wraiths and praetorians working in tandem are scary and brilliant.

The tomb blades just jumped and jetted and jinked and took objectives. One last blade stole their relic and ran it back to my home line followed by a chimera full of veterans taking every shot like a champ.

What I would change
Like I said earlier, either an extra scarab or if I take off the Beamer maybe make the overlord a tank 2+ armor

Switch Nebuloscopes for shadowlooms. As a mobile objective grabber unit and only one min squad I don't think they will help me against serpent spam as the only group so I'll just make them more survivable.

I'm testing later against a decurion blade spam list so we will see how that goes. Maybe I'll try and make a more detailed report.

If you're taking min squads of tomb blades, I agree, veins and looms (heck, maybe even just looms)are all you really need if you're just going to jink them every turn.

Sounds great. Really glad it is work. And agreed for damage output tomb blades work best in bigger numbers.

Game two was another success. So far I'm undefeated with the list. I'll post up a detailed report later today
