If your local meta is filled with nothing but 3+ save infantry then a bare-bones Battle Tank may or may not be better, but if you have any opponents working 4+ or worse infantry in (ie Xeno armies) then you can really clean house with an Eradicator.
I forget, is the Eradicator a large blast? I do know they ignore cover, which can be amazing in certain scenarios. And the tank is overall cheaper than most variants.

Dont even bother with magnets. just take a small ball of blue tack and never worry about having to drill things out.
It could be worth putting on a las cannon for a demolisher just to reach out and touch something but its ultimately a bs 3 las cannon. not amazing but can get the job done.
The same can work with the heavy bolters range as well and you might benefit from more shots
Sponsons now are a complete waste for them though

Didn't realise the Eradicator wasn't ordnance. Still, it would appear the HB is the better option for the hull weapon for this tank.
It seems that the las would be best suited for only the Vanquisher seeing as it is dedicated to vehicle sniping.
The Demolishers role is a little more muddied being excellent at both infantry and vehicles, however the fact that the las would mostly be snap firing, or at best, only hitting half the time, would suggest it's not worth the points spent to upgrade it.

Most competitive units (that I can think of atm) that rely on cover saves also usually have either a decent armor save (Eldar jetbikes, Marine bikes), an invuln or are tough enough/have enough wounds (gliding FMC's) to not care about single strength 6 AP4 shots. There are often enough targets for this wonderful cheap tank that is also not ordnance. It's golden for when you fight things that are 4+ or worse. Can singlehandedly win you a game vs tau with pathfinders or FW/Sniperdrone spam. Is often effective against Ig, orks, necrons, dark eldar - both models with toughness and vehicles as they'll still have to jink HB salvo and still get hit by a cover-ignoring s6 large blast. At the same time, the tank's cheap enough to not be a waste even vs heavilly armored troops and even some MC and light tanks. Just 140 pt for a main gun and 9 HB shots on a 14-13-10 platform. For 10 points less than an Eradicator I can take two Wyverns, who have 12'' longer range and will outperform the Eradicator against almost every target in the game. 8 twin-linked small blasts > one large blast, and the sheer number of hits + shred overcompensates for the lesser strength and AP. I'd never take a Russ for efficient anti- GEQ, which is more or less the only unit type the Eradicator excels at killing.

You can't take 2 wiverns as a mandatory second tank for your tank commander squadron. Besides, wiverns do squat to light vehicles.

Pretty sure Krieg cannot take Wyverns anyway.
