Like it should be. The cron dex is fine as is. Wraiths are the main issue, however. They're the new GW's serpent-like mistake. Crons do need sometihng fast and deadly but for what they get, wraiths should be like 60+ ppm.

Yeah, the pricing for Wraiths was a real headscratcher. Make them significantly more potent, but lets also lower their wargear costs so that the new combo comes out cheaper....

Honestly, I just changed my mind. I will never feel bad for Eldar players again. Just read the rumors for the new Eldar codex.

Why so? If anything, Eldar will be brought in line with the rest of the 7th edition codexes. The only thing truly broken about the Eldar codex was the Serpent Shield. The Wraithknight was undercosted for what it was, but not broken. If anything, the Wraithknight being moved to the LOW slot and becoming a gargantuan with Strength D shooting will jack up the points to beyond Imperial Knight levels. Good thing I don't own one!

As far as Necrons go, I feel the solution is a dedicated close-combat hammer, held back at friendly lines. Wraiths approaching? Counter-charge them. I've seen it done, even with Ravenwing Bikers. Necron Warriors can tarpit in CC, but with a strong enough charge and follow up they should be easily swept. And if all else fails, play to the objective.

I myself limit my Wave Serpents to just two, albeit fully kitted out. I feel that doing so has made me a better Eldar player, as its's made me appreciate the codex's excellent internal balance and how to properly utilize each unit for maximum effect.

For the OP, your GF seemed like she wasn't taking a very good list, even by CSM standards. Maybe offer to help her optimize her list for what she seems to want to accomplish on the tabletop.

The Wraithknight being moved to LOW isn't an issue, if anything, it fits the model. The fact that it chucks out S in regular games is dumb. Also, the fact that it'll probably be 500 points is cool. The fact that you could also bring 3 in an army is not cool (CAD shenanigans, folks). So, GW is making me want to play pickup games at a local store even less. I'll literally only ever play against a close group of friends where we agree to not break the game.

As for my girlfriend, she's too proud, and likes to make her own lists. That being said, she's made some decent ones in the past.

I don't care about fluff; only balance.

That's fine You probably should play something other than BA, then, as it is not an easy faction to play to win competitive games against a wide variety of competitive, min/max opponents.

Like Dark Eldar, it's a cool faction that requires skillful play and has less awesome and obvious tools in its toolbox than some other factions. Of course, there will be some future edition of 40k where cc is strongly favored, and then the pendulum will swing the other way.

For me, the main reason to play both of those factions is (a) awesome models, (b) cool fluff and (c) forces you to take a variety of non min/max units. I would never take either faction if I just wanted to win games in 7e.

I've played BA since 1994. I'm not giving GW more money except for minimal list upgrades. I do like the BA fluff, but balance should be completely independent of fluff that changes from author to author.

Yes, but this is GW. I mean Tau are a an extremely small faction, but in 7th are one of the best armies. Likewise, DA are a SM Legion and should kick butt, but short ofvallies, generally suck and are overpowered.
