Dont the orks have a stompa that fits the role of lord of war? i would rather see more varients and options of it and keep the naughts as heavies if I were an ork player.

The stompa is nearly 800 points which makes it too expensive to be useful more often than not.

With the new prevalence of affordable super-heavies and Gargantuans, the Orks need something better.

if you gave Nauts Super heavy at a cost of 50pts that would mean that my Morkanaut would cost 330pts with its KFF

330pts for a 5++ bubble and weapons at BS2 that don't do anything with the exception of the KMK which is ok but it still gets hot.....

in comparison a Knight Errant which costs 370pts

Knight has a 4++ directional save (not a big deal since most enemies are in one direction) Has a S D melee weapon. has a S9 AP1 large blast melta weapon and has better BS and Initiative.

SO those 40pts gets you a large blast weapon that can decimate.....well everything except flyers and a 4++ ion shield as well as the fact that it has double the ballistic skill and initiative of the Naut.

So can I please get the equivalent weapons for my Naut for about the same price? or upgrade my DCCW to a D weapon? no? then its not worth the 50pt upgrade to make it a super heavy.

I come in peace. I didn't bring artillery. But I'm pleading with you, with tears in my eyes: If you mess with me, I'll kill you all

Well, GW has successfully proven they can make a good version of the Gorka/Morkanaut. It's called the Knight Crusader. It can have up to six guns, is a super-heavy and more resilient than the 'nauts and it still has S10 AP2 in close combat.

Come the Apocalypse doesn't seem so bad right now...

We just house ruled ours have wounds instead of Hull Points.

Of course my gaming club recently decided that if GW sees no reason to support their own models with decent rules, we'll just bastardize them to fit our needs.

I play half a dozen different tabletop games, my basement walls are lined with armies from every time period and scope, 15mm up to 1/35 armies. I always come back to GW models and books because the lore and production value is top notch. (I recently modeled a tripwire coming off a GW stick grenade and the pin on the grenade was clear enough to thread a wire through. You can talk quality all day to me, I own models from a couple dozen companies and almost none of them have a workable pin on a 28mm+ grenade, sorry) But I'll be damned if GW's complete indifference to the game that supports their models ruins my weekend gaming sessions.

I've never understood the 40k community. GW doesn't give two stuffs about how their game plays. Yet people are married to these gakky rules like they signed a contract. At the very least, you'd think the few guys who still put on big tournaments would get together and work some sense into the ruleset,. For me the gorkanaut is a prime example of how bad the balance has become. Other armies have Superheavies and MC and GC near the same cost that are functionally 400% better. They want to be a model company? Fine.

Hell, we dropped initiative, and are pretty damn close to just adapting Bolt Action's ruleset.

A tabletop game should be at its core (Or any game really) intuitive. If I ask one of my buddies 8 year olds how cover should work, or how close combat should work, you'd be surprised at the simple reasonable answers they give. (Cover makes it harder to get hit, the guy who charges in combat goes first)

Anyway...sorry...got caught up in a rant.

Just rework the Gorkanaut yourself. They aren't going to do anything about it themselves. Taking away the hull points and vehicle explodes chart, mine becomes 200% better. Still dies pretty easy, but doesn't detonate from one shot.
