Just to note, simply because you can get a product at less than retail doesn't have much bearing on a comparison of retail prices. A quick, random look at the Corvus Belli webstore turns up human sized models that range from $8.75 to $11.45, and that's with the currently favorable dollars to euros exchange rate. Infinity models average more than $8/model, and most are about $10. Factor in the larger models, robots, drones, etc. and the typical retail price easily works out to over $10/model. If you want to compare discounts to discounts, the Home Raiders KS has models for less than $5/model even if you set the rulebook, cards, tokens, and whatnot on fire. But as you rightly alluded to, that's not terribly relevant to the add-on price you have to pay if you don't want the starter box. Edit: Pledge £45 or more About $70 USD 179 backers PORTAL - Home Raiders core game + the RAF pilot Kickstarter exclusive. You can expand your pledge with any items from the Inner-space depot. Please take note of the Shipping section. Estimated delivery: Oct 2015
The "core game" + RAF pilot model is 15 models. 70 divided by 15 is 4.7. Even if you ignore the value of everything else in the box, the models in the core game are less than $5 per model. As an add on, 3 Lilliput Guardsmen models is $18.69. 18.69 divided by 3 is $6.23. I'm not the best at math, but I am having a really hard time understanding how that math is inaccurate. If you look around, you will find that lots and lots of fantasy spincast pewter models around 25-35mm 'scale' retail for either exactly $5 each or nearly so. That's a fact. That's what I was referring to when referencing $5/model. Obviously, the Home Raider models are not $5/model, unless you get the core box, in which case they are almost exactly $5/model.

Kirasu: Have we fallen so far that we are excited that GW is giving us the opportunity to spend 58$ for JUST the rules? Surprised it's not "Dataslate: Assault Phase"

Not inaccurate, we are just comparing 2 different things. I included the 2 add-on figures per faction in my comparison (completing the 2 base factions) to get the 5.40 figure, which actually makes the over all purchase cheaper per model in the pick two situation and slightly more in the base set. I also included the 2 add-on figures per faction to get the over $7 figure so that things were equally compared. If we look at JUST the box set it is $70 for Gremlins and Lilly and yes that is $4.66 per mini for 15 minis. So in this regard, yes you are right, but I have always been comparing with the box set factions being complete (as I said from the beginning) that is why your numbers did not add up to me and mine were higher. But, lets look at the pick two option from the place of trying to just recreate the base starter box so we can actually compare your numbers per model to the pick two numbers:
I just realized that the leader for the gremlins (Spark) is not even a purchase option so it is actually impossible to get a box set that is a equivalent to the starter box in content. That said, if you Sub in the price for the Tinker and say that he is sparks you get a total of 49 #'s for only the same Gremlin models in the base set (no other materials) and that equals: $75.67 or $8.40 per model. If you include the Penguins with the same amount of figures as lilly (not its actual base faction size, cleo is not included) you get: 32 pounds which is $49.42 or $8.24 per model. Combined, to have two factions ( that you picked) with the exact 15 models and nothing else the starter has included, you are looking at paying: 81 pounds or $125.08 or $8.30 per model. Compare that to the starter at $70...So $55 more for the exact same content, but no printed rules, or damage markers, or dice. Add dice and the difference between the starter and pick 2 is actually $137.43 or a difference of $67.35 and you still have no printed rules or damage tokens and one of the starter figures is not even an option to buy. Even using your math this seems high to me.
Edit: also, as far as being able to find a cheaper price does matter. I quoted prices from two major miniature stores. You cannot use the highest price you can find (usually creator direct) and act like that is the only one that should be considered. They have their value, but the true value is going to be what major retailers sell the product for. EVERY MSRP is always typically higher than what a product actually sells for...Its just how the world works. But I understand it can be convenient to ignore that fact.

Faction bundles now available!
They've also mentioned an "all in up to this point" pledge when the Freeloaders are unlocked.

The new bundles do look pretty good. Definitely a fan of the Fair Folk, and the Lords of Dust are unique enough to draw interest as well.
Wish there were some more sculpts, though. I like a fair amount of their work on Carnevale minis, but there are some lacking there too.

Yup, I like the new bundles. It made me decide that if I am going to back, there is no point in just getting Gremlins and Penguins as a build your own alternative to the box factions. I mean, if I get the starter box I can get Penguins (3 full factions) for less than $10 more than I would pay to get just the Gremlins and Penguin factions (2). Blows my mind its basically cheaper to get 3 full factions rather than picking your own 2, but it is what it is. Only thing that sucks is I really do not need 3 factions and I am really not fond of Lilly.

pretty sure they are rats and not sheep, but even that is off scale.

I kinda remember the creator saying they were rodent based in the Beast of War interview. Maybe they are hamsters to have small tails like that.
