I already have IG, SM, Eldar, DE, and Harlies. (As well as a smattering of Inq and Daemons.) I guess...orks? Maybe Admech?

I wouldn't start any. I have the two armies I like the most. None of the other armies look enticing to me at all... which I should probably be thankful for (or at least, my wallet should be).

Well, they're both $33. So really you're paying $13 for the second of the two. For a very potent and capable army.

I'd go with orcs. Probably speed freaks. I think it would be a fun army

Love how this thread starts with if you could. That's just priceless. Lol!

I would start an army my wife liked maybe, though I know she hates the gameplay. It'd mostly just be cool to get her painting as I know she'd be really good at it!

As for myself, really I'm pretty happy with my marines, I'm working on another allied detachment, much like how I started my Raven Guard, so eventually I'll probably have 3 marine armies! Haha!

I wouldn't start an entirely new army per se.

But I am currently gathering together Skitarii and Cult Mechanicus units so I can use them alongside my tanks.

My first proxied battle held promise. A skitarii force with a Knight titan and 3 Leman russ tanks (annihilator, demolisher and conqueror) managed to do a lot of damage and survive longer than I thought they would. Further Data required....

Either a 30K Legion army (waiting for you, TS) or DE Haemonculus army. Model-wise both look cool to me, particularly the skinless Wracks.

Right now, I would start a small Mechanicus detachment with those awesome servitors and if I could manage it a few FW robots and Skitarrii. That would be a great looking army.

There is not this idea.

Sisters of Battle. Always liked 'em, and the fact that they get ragged on so much makes me want to support the army. Can't afford it, of course, but if I could, I would.

The models are beautiful too. The Tauros has alot of potential for painting. I am more of a painter than a player.

If it wasn't for the fact that I already play Biel Tan which has instilled a hatred in me for painting white... I would totally start a White Scars army.

I have always just absolutely loved the aesthetic of that army, and I love the backstory and tactics behind them as well.

Well I'm just beginning. I bought all the tools and paints I needed first and my first order of Orks are in the mail, should be opening the boxes next week. 1 Warboss with Attack Squig, 10 Boyz and 1 Trukk. I'll be spending a lot of time with Orks till I have an apocalyptic amount but the IG/AM is next on my list if GW still exists by then. Rofl I guess I'm going to punish myself with horde armies but both armies really have a special place in my heart when it comes to aesthetics and fluff.

Id absolutely love to start dark mechanicus.
Buy up a bunch of the new kits and chaosify them. But I dont have the time currently and frankly cost wise it could be horrific.

I thought I was out for good but the release of Admech brought me back. I've been back a week and already am 10 vanguard and 6 kataphron deep with conversion parts on the way for up to six kastelan.

Damn you GW, may the warp take you! But first lemme get a dominus... and some more of those vanguard ...

Currently, I play Dark Eldar and craftworld Eldar.

If I had to start a new army it would either be Blood Angels (because CC is glorious) or Daemons because no one in my group plays them.

Actually, I wouldn't start a full new army atm.
The reasons are prices and the fact that I have already some armies like Eldar and Necrons.

However, if so, I'd take Eldar or Necrons. They are very rewarding these days. More tactical flexibility than Marine armies have.

If I could afford to start a new army, I'd probably do Cult Mechanicus + Skitarii.

They have some really nice (albeit bloody expensive) models, and the Tech-Priest Dominus is one of my favourite HQs in the game.

I already have 3 armies (Dark Angels, Tau, and Khorne Daemonkin), so I'm not looking to actually start another army anytime soon. If I did, it would probably be Tyranids (although they look hard to paint). I also have had an idea in my head of starting a desert-themed Astra Militarum army using the infantry figures with pith helmets from Mad Robot Miniatures and regular GW vehicles. As I said, neither of those is likely to happen anytime soon. I'll probably just continue to expand the armies I've got for now.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Necrons.

When I was first considering an army I started out by reading the fluff. I found a big time line for them. Necrons were awesome. Space zombie robots. Im in!. But at the time they had not had a new codex since 5th... So I went to my next choice, Nids.

If I start a second army it will be Necrons. My first choice.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

I currently play Dark Angels Ravenwing, and I would buy me some yummy Necrons on a hearthbeat. But that's just a phase, because I had many opportunity to start new army and I always pick something different than what I though at first lol

ps: I would also love playing Scions as troops, if only they could have more in their own codex :S
