It's great that you're getting into the details about your product, but I still think you need to stress that you are providing a service more than a product. The comments all seem to be "I don't want to make my own because..." and that's what you'll make money on.

What are you going to do about people trying to make decals using GW or some other company's IP? It's really important that you think about it. Read up about chapterhouse...

Thank you for your input. The entire purpose of the kickstarter is to show that we will be providing a service as well as high end product. So yes it is both.

In regard to IP, this is from my kickstarter:
Q. Can I print GW, Privateer Press or other IP protected designs?

A. Well this is a tough one. If you are not reselling any of the decals and using them for private use then I would say it’s not a problem. I mean black templars use a maltese cross, Ultra marines use an upside down omega symbol, and Michael Moorcock invented the Chaos symbol in the 70’s. So many of these symbols are open game and the ones that are not usually already have official decal sheets produced already negating the need for this service. This policy will be solidified by the time the store is officially open.

Somewhat related question - Any possibility of dry transfers? I've only ever see Bandai do them and I prefer them over wet transfers.

I am not familiar with those. Are they like the decals/stickers that come with some model kits?

No, they look like this:

You cut out like a wet transfer, and then use a bit of sotch tape to affix it in place. Rub it with something (I use a Nintendo DS stylist), and then pull it off. The design is now on the model.

Dry transfers are very cool and something I might look into in the future. I might need to outsource those though.

Interested in backing this, but it worries me that the reward levels don't line up with the text on the campaign page. Can you not get that fixed?

Hi Tom, if you're referring to the July expected fulfillment date on half the rewards, no unfortunately I cannot fix them now. The expected delivery date for all rewards is August.

The kickstarter sat for a while before I launched it and forgot to edit the delivery date before I launched. Once a person select a reward it's locked and uneditable.

Thanks.

I mean the text says one sheet is $35 but the reward levels say $25 per sheet... You can't change the level so it matches?

Not the end of the world if not, just seems strange.

Don't want it to go up at some point during the campaign; and I wonder how many people you've got pledging $25 expecting to get a sheet?

TomWB, the rewards are designed to be discounts off if the full retail price. If you look at the higher level packages there are substantial savings up to around 40-60% off retail. Also once a person has pledged and selected a reward, that reward cannot be edited.

Happy Sunday Everyone,
Fallout Hobbies is over 50% funded already and it’s been 5 days!

I wanted to show everyone an example of the types of decals I will be offering in the “pre-designed” category.

This is a sheet for “Evil Machine Cultists”

All artwork and symbology on here is 100% designed by me without any IP infringement, but it’s easy to image in which army you could use this sheet for.

The sheet would be produced in opaque red, black and white ink on transparent decals paper and would retail for $15USD once the store is live. But before that will be available to all Kickstarter backers as one of their pre-designed decal selections.

I will be building sheets like this for many popular and alternate army builds about every 2-3 days until the completion of the Kickstarter campaign.

Please support Fallout Hobbies and stay tuned for more details!
