Drink an obscene amount of whatever makes you want to go to the toilet the most. Throw a brick through the store window then take a piss on everyone and everything you can then follow the store manager home and take a dump in his wife/girlfriends/mums handbag. That will learn him.

On a more serious note. I find a good letter of complaint is a good measure and keep a copy for your records. An email is a good idea. Take your complaint to all possible avenues.

His attitude sounds disgusting and it's appalling that he was encouraging this behaviour amongst the shoppers.

It's possible that you had done something before to bring this upon yourself but it still seems a very nasty incident.

I would have packed up and left before it got to that stage i think.

Ok, good news,
the regular manager was back today and I have spoken to him about the incident, he was very understanding and said that he would deal with it and keep an eye open to make sure nothing like this happens again. as for the book I explained that I thought someone else had picked it up and he said he'd keep an eye out for it and ask about, overall I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

If no book is found, make sure they get you a new copy as well. As in right off the shelf.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Good call. Get him to get on the phone with corporate and have one sent ASAP. I doubt their destroyed already. Or have him get one off the shelf from a FLGS. They do owe you a good copy of a book. If it was just customers screwing with you, it would be more reasonable to just keep an eye out for it. But since an employee was involved, the store now owes you a replacement. Or a free box of AoS for the models as a replacement. Something of equal or greater value that is acceptable to you.

At the same time i would highly suggest you do not.

The manager in question will found out and generally wont help you ever again.

You will be known as the Fun police which will probably never go away.

that book will be worth like 20 bucks within the next few months. its not worth 20 bucks to kill your rep even further. especially if that is the only place to play

my 2c

Edit: (FLGS tend to work as a cult. everything needs to be fixed internally. corporate would be the external force coming in to fix the problem)

If they refuse to replace your book, just nuke the site from orbit.

It's the only way to be sure.

I'm not sure saying "the books now out of date anyway" is helpful, it isn't the point

Especially if that book is never printed again- I'd much rather have my well-kempt copy, than someone else's tattered one.

one final update. I have my book back! one of the other players had accidentally picked it up and was very pleased to have theirs back as was I. The regular manager very kindly gave me a brand new book that was left over from the island if blood set from the store but as I had my own small format book back I gave the new copy to another player who I know didn't have a copy but still wanted to play WFB. So in the end it all worked out and I was able to make someone else happy too.

Glad it all worked out for you.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

At least that was sorted out. Have the other players given you anymore trouble?
