Really lovely work.

I'm a big fan of what you did with the MEdge sprues, and the Ork terrain is spectacular.

And he has a lot more adventures in store. I used to desperately want to change him out and make new models for the terrain, but between him and Binky the Ork, we've grown fond of our lil' guys.

Haha, I love Steve the guardian

Great stuff all around.

What do you used for base. It has to be something that doesn't warp.

Thanks! We use 3/8" or 1/4" MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) it's a smooth, thin plywood you can get from hardware stores or scraps from furniture makers. It has to be cut with power tools but it's highly resistant to warping. It can warp, in fact I had to re-base a piece recently, but not nearly as bad as other materials, or materials that don't warp but are too soft to support anything wider than a couple inches.

On top of that- make sure you wear a dust mask when cutting. MDF dust isn't nice.

Yup, cut outside, wear a mask, clean your cutting area after and change your clothes. The dust has formaldehyde in it which can be dangerous for your lungs.

I will often leave my clothes and shoes outside to not track the dust in before I can shake or vacuum them, then I shower. It won't kill you on contact or anything, but if you have to cut and sand it as often as I do, you begin to worry about it accumulating.
