That's the Freebooter right? I get it and the Mariner mixed up sometimes but yeah I do have a bit of a soft spot for that model. Big fan of the Galleon too.

I also like the devout Jack model from Menoth just because the model looks like it is running. Gives it that look like its advancing into combat. I like the quality of the Durst model, the cast if beautiful but the model looks goofy with his tiny head and big broad shoulders.

My mate is planning on using Vlad3's crowned head for Durst, and theoretically it should work pretty well.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

they are, indeed...
i don't even play, but i bought pretty much all of the Pirates of the Broken coast, because they are that cool...
unfortunately, i don't ever get a chance to just paint for fun, so i have only painted Broadsides Bart so far...
i jumped at the chance to paint this mini for my first invitation to contribute to the Clash for a Cure charity auction in 2012...
i really enjoyed painting my first pirate, as this is my favorite Pirates 'Caster...

my favorite Battlebox has always been Gorten...
when Mike McVey dropped one of each Warmachine starter set on my table back in 2004, to paint for the European conventions display case, i was asked to use the studio schemes for the four main factions, and then allowed to use the art for Gorten's book entry on this set...
painting the shark's teeth on the Driller was so much fun!!!

i really liked Fiora when she came out, and like her Epic model even more...
when i was told that i was picked to paint her alternate scheme for the rulebook, i was so stoked...
alt schemes are even more fun to paint than the studio schemes, since they offer a less common look...
inverting the normal Menoth colors made a simple, but striking, alternative...

here you can see the difference next to some of the Zealots i painted for the studio in the normal scheme...

my two absolute favorite minis are still sitting in my figure case, waiting for a chance for their turn in the queue ...
the female Widowmaker is my absolute favorite!!!
a close second is NQ Eiryss...
one is so simple and imposing, and the other is detailed and elegant...
i will have to paint my female Widowmaker as an homage to Allan C's version in the white of the 1st Border Legion, because i haven't seen anyone do it better than he did...
Eiryss will be painted like her artwork, since green is my favorite color...

there are plenty more that could go on my list, but it would be way too long...
suffice to say, i love the PP aesthetic!!!

cheers
jah

Wow, those paint jobs are incredible. Amazing work, thank you for those pictures. Now, you just need to post pics of you playing! I promise that the aesthetic of the game and models means so much more on the table top. I love using my MKI Sorscha because that is the model that got me into the game, so every victory (and defeat), is just a continuation of the story in my head. The eNovelas and the Expansion books do a good job of giving you a personality to work with, but they don't cover everything, which is what I like. They leave so much open to the imagination of the characters and their side battles and struggles. Hah, if you are ever in Colorado, feel free to message me. We will get you on the table top with us!

Its not my favorite, but I'm damn proud of this conversion I just finished for Hand of Judgement(feora's character jack)

Well, I have a few favorite models but I guess the one that stands out the most is the: Druid of Orboros Overseer. I use it in Pathfinder as well, its the only other model I use outside its normal game play. I have it modified a bit, shaved off some of the Circle Flare but I basically made him look more like a Shadow Druid caster and a little less Circle but its a casual vanilla model that floats between two different table top.

I can't wait either for the hand of judgement model to be released. I really like your idea.

My biggest disappointment is that, even though the above is a legal model in the new conversion rules, its not legal will HoJ is released.

They need to add a caveat to unreleased models that if you have an otherwise legal conversion you can use the model if its rules are released.

To be fair I think most opponents and even most TOs would be fine with it.

I think the rules are that models are not legal in tournaments until the official model is actually released, even if the conversion would otherwise be legal?

Correct. Although I think the rules should be that the model is legal to use once its rules are released, provided you have a legal conversion.

thanks, bud...
very nice of you...
if i am ever back in Colorado (i went to Longmont High in '90/'91 for a semester) i would rather go shooting...

believe me, i know the beauty of a well painted army on the tabletop, i just don't feel the need to actually be the player to appreciate it...
i would rather watch, and paint...
seeing Dr. Faust's Khador army progress on The Painting Clinic, and then seeing it in action in real life on the tabletop was incredible...
the models do have so much more meaning in their proper context!!!

i really like Sorscha, too...
unfortunately, i don't have pics of the Khador Battlebox i painted for PP, but her MKI version is my favorite, aside from the large scale resin version i have, which beats all her other sculpts in my book...
i daydream about painting that model, but i need to go get her out of storage in Alaska:(...

since i don't have any Sorscha pics, here is my favorite version of The Butcher instead...
the 2010 alt. version, display commission...

for something a little Cygnar, my favorite of the Warmachine Tactics Kickstarter minis, and my contribution to The Clash for a Cure last year, Dalin Sturgis...

Borka is my favorite Hordes Warlock, hands down (both of his versions), but i haven't had a chance to paint him yet, sadly...
Xerxis is my favorite Skorne Warlock, and i was stoked to get a crack at him for a display...
those maces are just brutal, and i love his Samurai style armor...

cheers

I like most of the Ret jacks, especially in a studio paintjob. They look different enough from the steampunk-styled jacks for me to like them (I do not dislike steampunk or anything but I am not a fan of really any of the other faction's warjacks) and that white and blue clean color scheme is what made me decide I was going to go with Retribution when coworkers/buddies drew me into the game.
The Paladin of the Order of the Wall is a model that I think looks really nice. The large shield design, armor, and pose of the mini was almost enough to make me buy one and start a Menoth army prior to seeing Ret.
The Sacral Vault looks amazing. I first saw it when BoLS featured a "How to paint: The Sacral Vault!" series of articles. There is just so much going on with it and it looks like it would be something cool to paint up and just set on a shelf (which I may do one of these days after my painting skills improve). When I first saw it, I said aloud at work "That's it, I'm playing a Mercs army." After some though, I decided that I probably shouldn't (I have my Ret army that I haven't even really started on, plus battleboxes or more of Cryx, Circle, and Khador, plus 40K SW, GK, Necrons, and Orks, plus WFB Chaos, plus a small set of Malifaux guys, plus a gak-load of X-Wing and Armada minis, and I would like to give a Infinity a shot), but I still may buy a Sacral Vault just to have at some point.

I love the Ret jacks, but only out of studio paint jobs. A friend of mine has them in dark blue and black with faint white speckling that makes them look like the night sky. They're amazing.
