or fielding a green tide, and even then only if your not playing certain dakka armies that can literally table a tide in 2-3 turns......
4 of my last 7 games now have been against scatterbikes/WK. I don't know why Eldar players even bother anymore, but I guess if they were into games without predetermined outcomes, they wouldn't have picked Eldar.

Being able to charge after running would help a lot with both charge reliability and range, with an effective average of 10.5 inches and a (highly unlikely) minimum of 3 if you keep 2D6 for charge range.

i'm really against the idea of a basic infantry unit having the possibility of charging 24 inches across the board in one move, unless we are suddenly going to increase all the melee units points cost it's just ridiculous

Melee units, with a few exceptions, are already laughably overcosted.

Your completely right, I should have to pay way more for my Nobz and Boyz because they are already so massively effective at CC that I always win.....

Well ork boys are probably one of the most underpriced basic troops out there but you only seem to concentrate on your own armies problems rather than the actual game wide charge problems, certainly if your buff of 6 inch move, 6 inch potential run AND a potential 12 inch charge came through it would benefit me but i think it would ruin the balance and spirit of the game

All it would do is buff armies that don't need buffing. A lot of armies suddenly get a scary charge range, and a good handful of those armies DON'T want to charge to begin with. For this sort of change, everything needs to change. Suddenly units should be costing drastically more and many special rules and wargear will need to be relooked at to compensate for the change.
As for under priced, I don't think Ork Boyz are under priced. If you meant inexpensive, then I'd agree.
I'd enjoy a 6 + D6 charge to give me more of a consistent charge range though.

It'd ruin a lot of the fun for me, i run up to 4 units of vanguard veterans sometimes and if they could move run and charge i wouldn't even be playing i'd just be turn one charging
Underpriced is probably unfair since their leadership is so poor, but they are undeniably effective, i i think they are actually oe of them most well balanced units right now

Poor leadership, poor BS and paper armor balances out their strengths, which is getting in and swinging their swords around. They die to a stern gaze, but can put out some undeniable damage if they are left unchecked. Balanced and fairly priced imo.

Ork boyz are well balanced for what they do...get into CC, unfortunately the last 2 editions have frowned upon CC and have favored shooty armies, thats why the charge needs to be fixed.

Simple ones i like
Moving through cover and charging simplified to - modifiers less rolling of dice makes games faster
Running should be double movement or an extra 6" stock (as i dont remember if beasts can run or not)
So say i want to climb over a small wall. messure 5" instead of 6"
Over two walls?! then go to 4" and etc.
this applies to run as well.
as to making assault more viable, make dudes that want to charge out of a non assault or open top vehicle count as disordered, slowed (int1) or both if the vehicle moved. cannot charge past 6".
also make over watch an initiative test.
also prefer charges to be 6"+d6 but all of these might start stacking.

what do you mean about the disordered charge from vehicles? exactly as that is written or do you mean they can move the full 12 inches and then disembark and charge just disordered? because if you nerf open topped whats the point of taking them?

I mean just like assault vehicles and open topped but instead of getting to assault normal, you take more penalties.
lol i derped i see what i wrote now.
it really should just be "a unit that disembarks from a vehicle may make a charge but is considered disordered and fight at initiative 1 with the exception of assault vehicles and open top"
something like that.
dont sue me
im not a lawyer
