Base model is the chaos sorcerer; staff is made from a greys knight's staff with SM standard on top. The crown is not very good - I couldn't be bothered to sculpt ears on the skull to make it look more like the picture

Spyre Hunters

Most of the base models are from Mantic's Enforcers.

Malcadons – added some dark eldar and Tau parts. Really like the blue one, the green one has a dark eldar head as I wanted it to look like there were several Noble Houses in the hunting party, so I wanted slight variations on the armour – plus to make one of them look like one of my Yelds (see later on).

Jakara – with these models I wanted them to look like “Bishop” out of “xmen – DoFP” with him absorbing energy to power his weapon at the start of the film. red is a mantic model (recon mercenary) again with some dark eldar parts. Blue is a mantic enforcer again – didn’t like the arms that came with it and so I chopped them off (after finishing painting it) and replaced them with bare IG arms I had knocking about to make them similar. The original arms had the model in a really bad pose which didn’t look right.

Yeld – the first one I kind of lost interest in and rushed it. The second one is a Shadowseer that I got (before the mantic models) to convert as it looked like my “test” models (which both heads have been re used). I initially got some wings from scibor but they were too big and so got some blood angles wings.

Orrus – mantic enforcer captain with his gun hand changed for a power fist and his sword chopped off. Nothing special about this one. The next one (again from manitc) I will try and make it have a more dynamic pose.


Matriarch and patriarch are in the works along with the orrus (awaiting on ebay)

The paint scheme I wanted them to stand out and have a different primary colour to all the other gangs I’ve done. White is one that I hadn’t used so white it was. Tried to add some colour in there with various lighting / glows on the armour (some look ok some don’t).

it's been awhile but I've started up again.

here is my attempt at Kal Jerico and Scabs.

scabs is easy, it just a Cawdor juve with a different head.

Kal on the other hand is based on a model I saw on ebay - no idea what it was or where it came from. I cut off its hands and added the dark elder weapons as they were the only thing I had that looked like las pistols.

The Ratskins

nothing special just the bog standard older models.

wanted to paint them in such a say that they looked like they had been living next to something that gives off radiation and caused all their hair to turn blonde and their eyes purple. Brakar has black hair due to the fact that he is not a proper ratskin, and is wearing jeans. note that the crouching ratskin with shotgun is also wearing jeans as he was my first model and is used a hired gun - ratskin scout and so comes into contact with other people from the hive.

The Pit slaves

picture heavy sorry. the first lot are my work crew / construction slaves freed by escaped pit fighters. I had a too many Goliath juves and so cut one of them up and added an ork nob buzzsaw. the rest are kit bashes. - got lazy and just stuck a screw on one for the rock drill.

next comes the escaped pit fighters and their techno. all the parts are magnetised as I was feeling adventures us (read lazy and cheap as I didn't want to make lots of models armed with different things). the slaughter priest looked like a great model to play with and model - apart from its huge in comparison to the other models - its right arm was initially magnetised in one place and would be fine adding on the ork bionics - until I realised that the leaders could have special weapons to. so I cut up the sword arm and added in another magnet as it wouldn't have looked right otherwise (basically a hand coming out of the elbow).

the last painted model is a previously converted model (IG storm trooper) that will e used as a Techno

and then a servitor with magnetised heavy weapons.

WIPs not shown will be other pit fighters but lighter build (like the Roman ones that run around with the net and tridents) - dark elder parts mainly.
