More updates on the head assembly, I was also advised that he looked a little comical rather than menacing so I change his demeanour slightly. I have temporarily tacked the pieces together to make sure I'm going the right way, seems ok to me. Progress was slow due to an unforeseen painting project (the wife wanted the house painted lol)

A bit more work done, his aspect has been altered slightly and I have finished off some of the rivet detailing. The main thing is the piping/cable work, I was concerned that I would be unable to make it all fit as per the render as that's two dimensional and obviously this is 3d but, Hooray hand to eye coordination triumphs again ( I guessed right it fits the Gorget perfectly).

Woa. Do you do most of your work sculpting or filing? That looks like it would be difficult to do if you sculpted it....

Wet sculpting, filing, sanding, chipping pieces of marble, lol, all the same really. Depending on what's being made, for organics its wet sculpting all the way, for armour and none organic surfaces I do a mixture of both. For flat clean edges I find sanding to be the most efficient method files too, detailing that's usually wet sculpting some press moulds too, the piping believe it or not I use a comb you roll the putty into the desired thickness then gently roll it between two sections of comb (you have to wait until the putty cures a little first it makes it easier to handle (30-40 mins).

...And then it got better...

A bit more progress on the head and Gorget nearly finished bar a few rivets etc here and there.















Now I can start on the torso things should start to speed up now I am happy with the head scale.
