Guys,

thanks for all the replies.

Seems like everyone feels like the flak devs are pants.

I haven't played in a while so I can't really speak to the meta of the area.

I wasn't going to get a stormtalon. I think they are ugly flying boxes of over-costed crap. But then I saw CNC Miniatures Zephyr Penguin... Now that model is how sex wings! https://www.miniaturescenery.com/ProductPage.asp?Code=VH1ZEPENG

I WANT 3 of those as "counts as" stormtalons. I was hoping they could act as anti-air and shoot ground objectives.

So, a follow up question... Do you think 3 stormtalons are TOO much? Do they have enough utility to be worth the points cost in an 1850 list?

I do own a Stormraven, but I was actually thinking of selling it off. Is it much good? Is the smaller one (Stormtalon?) better?

For pure AA, the talon is better.

The raven is the LR of the sky. It has a lot of features, many of them contradictory, and you pay for them weather or not you use them. It’s got more guns and options then the talon, and PotMS, so it can pull some tricks. It’s tougher, but not invincible. And you have the cargo capacity, which you can do things with, but it’s not the best option.

I enjoy both my raven and my talon, but a lot depends on what kind of lists you build, and the meta you play in.

YMMV.

A big bonus of the Raven is all of it's weapons can be AP2 or less. This obviously helps blow up other flyers but just as important, it punchs through FMC armor forcing a jink.
