I really want to keep going forward with these army. Seeing your army keeps me going as well. I hope I can get a decently sized army in order to get big games with them .

Are you starting your legion soon ?

I hope that I can pick up a Betrayal at Calth box of my own in the near future for my Blood Angels, maybe after Christmas. We'll see.

Take it easy.

Hello guys!

Its been a long time since my last post. Here's a WIP for my 5-man heavy bolter squad in MK3.

ToDo:

- Highlights on black
- Faceplates on other legionaries
- backpacks (with highlights on all of them)
- bases
- Washing metalics with nuln oil, highlighting them

I consider these guys at 80%. A 10-man tactical squad (also usable as a seeker/veteran squad) is on the way and should be finished before the end of the month.

After that, I might continue a dreadnaught and some Phalanx Warders !

I still have that vindicator sitting on my desk. I really should continue that piece... Cheers!

Lovely squad and awesome yellow as always Teban! Can't wait to see more of your force and looking forward to seeing these guys based and ready for the tabletop.

Keep up the fantastic work, and take it easy for now.

Hello!

I have not placed any decals on these guys yet. That will come later, but I consider them done for the time being.

Also... some previews of WIP ... A big WIP

WIP for my Dread. This one turned a little darker than I had hoped for, Its also a bit dirtier than I hoped so I will carry on with weathering

Weapons will be painted up when I get the other 2 dreads up and painted to this same stage. 10 marines are now on the way (That will be used as either veterans, seeker squads or regular tacticals)

As for the cabin on the big project, that will be worked on in parallel.

Cheers!

Wow, I like all that Forge World love

Nice concept on the bases. I think that grey bases go really well with Imperial Fists, too. You might get a bit more mileage with the bases if you drybrush them with either Tyrant Skull or Pallid Wych Flesh. It gives you a little more contrast there.

It's a little hard to see because of the dark photography, but are the metallic bits on the missile launcher guys highlighted? If not, a light drybrush of Necron Compound is a good way to get a bunch of mileage without doing very much work. If you've never done it before, though, I'd test on an old model that you prime black, base leadbelcher, wash, and drybrush Necron Compound, first -- just to make sure you don't go overboard. You don't need very much at all, and the effect is very pleasing.

I really like that vindicator too! Look forward to seeing more

For the grey bases I actually used longbeard grey (dry compound) - the heavy bolters have the highest contrast of all, but you did point out something there: Pictures are dark.

I will take pictures in broad daylight when I'm done with the tacticals and put them up again - hopefully that will show the contrast

As for metallics, I have used necron compound but its rather.. hard to use it. Its like a thick, dry paste with water on it - So i tend to use the next silver: ironbreaker (i believe its the same color) after I wash with nuln oil.

That Vindicator is slow on its tracks because I'm getting ready for a game @MWG (and I'm only bringing infantry and walkers)

Thanks again for taking your time for the C&C; After I take the pictures in clear daylight or better lighning, I shall take my decision on the drybrushing (tyrant skull/pallid wych flesh vs longbeard grey)

Hmmmm. Necron compound should be EXACTLY the same consistency as longbeard grey. if it's not, you should take it to a GW store and swap it. It actually works in exactly the same way.

It should be dead simple, idiot-proof to use. Put a little on brush, work most of it off onto a paper town, and then use fast back-and-forth motion on silver area using a stiff, coarse brush (like GW drybrush), and instant talent

Necron Compound is doubly easy to use compared with other dry paints because its adhesion is so good; just contact the raised area of model with the lightest touch, and you have highlight.

Then I have some pretty bad necron compound paints :( I will take a couple of screenshots and post them tonite. It's always been a pain to use it. No wonder why...

Aaaand he's almoost done. Arms for the 3 dreadnaughts are down the pipe for priming along with other bits!

And Talys, this is what my necron compound looks like :(:

@Teban - hey, that dreadnought looks awesome so far!

What's wrong with the necron compound? That looks like all of the dry compounds, and exactly like mine (more or less). You should be able to put a drybrush into some of it, then wipe almost all of it off on a napkin. Wth a very light back-and-forth motion -- barely touching the model -- catch all the raised edges of the model and/or add some texture.

If you check out some of my terrain pieces that I photographed --

http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-89259-44225_Terrain.html

I extensively drybrush necron compound; in fact, I think every model I photographed there uses it.

Hello guys! More WIP of a tactical / veteran squad

I will have more updates this week - I have also entered a mini challenge (base decoration) in my local FLGS so I plan to do the bases as cool as possible without making them better than my Templar's (my favorites )

Cheers!

Looking really good once again Teban!

I'm envious of the speed at which you can churn a squad out. The way I'm painting takes *FOREVER* to finish a five man squad off. Part of that is due to the fact that I am working two jobs at present, so free time is at a premium. Still, all things considered it could be worse. Some time to paint is better than none, after all.

Can't wait to see this squad finished up. Keep up the great work!

Take it easy.

Looking snazzy as always! Loving the touches of green mixed in with the yellow and gunmetal/black. Nice pop of color on them.

I'm doing something similar with my Blood Angels, only I decided to use purple (Purity seals) and just the tiniest splashes of green (eye lenses) to help bring some extra color to the army.

Can't wait to see more. Take it easy for now man & keep up the great work!

Hello guys!

This is a long term WIP . I will be working on it during the next 4-5 months .

Right now im working on the inside areas first, I will keep dry fitting until I manage to put it together. What do you guys think of putting LEDs in it? (for the cabin and the assault ramp room)

Coming up this march and April: The First Captain of the Imperial Fists, the Emperor's Champion: Sigismund!

Also, I will start working in 20-30 Phalanx warders!

EDIT: Sigismund has just been cleaned. He is getting ready for priming . He has to be done before the end of march due to the unofficial painting challenge held by Paradigm. I hope you guys enjoy the progress of this beast

Cheers!

Man, that model is just so damn cool. The detailing, the pose, all of it. Your painting being so crisp and precise reall do this mini the justice it deserves there Teban.

I cannot wait to see what Horus Heresy characters the Blood Angels get, and hope at least one of them is as good looking as Sigismund.

Looking forward to more updates. Keep up the great work, and take it easy man.

Hello guys!

I finished these 4 dudes last week - there are 7 more to go. I will continue to make progress on these guys while also building an Iron Hand for a friend, a Blood Angel legionary/captain (for both 30k and 40k) and some scenery work.

Thank you!

There will be more to come this week .

I shall update this blog (thanks to whoever moved this thread ) frequently

Do you think I should include other WIPs (such as SoB or non-IF marines in here)? Or should I create a new thread for them?

Cheers!

Love it as always. Your yellows are so bright and clean, with perfect highlights.

Can't wait to see your take on the Iron Hand and Blood Angel. I'm very curious to see how your style translates to the black armor of the Iron Hand and the red of the Blood Angel.

Looking forward to seeing more soon, keep churning them out! I only wish I could paint to the quality you do at the volume you can. I'm lucky to finish 2 or 3 minis in a month at my current pace.

Take it easy for now.
