Calgar has daemonic power fists that defy reality. With integrated bolters which means he outguns Abby by a metric feth-ton.

Talon of Horus has an integrated Storm Bolter.

Makes no fluff sense considering CSM don't have Storm Bolters, and even then, is it S6 AP3 Assault 2 at BS5? Genuine question as I've shifted my CSM for my Legiones.

It is treated as a combi-bolter in-game, but we're talking fluff. Fluffwise a storm bolter is literally the same amount of firepower as two bolters, although Abaddon wouldn't have as much ammo as Calgar I'm sure. I still give the fight to Abaddon.

The old fluff had each crusade being an attempt to over run cadia and head to Terra. Very recent retcons now have it all as part of some grand plan that is coming to fruition with the 13th crusade, which itself has been retconned many times both ways.

On the subject of recon:
"Abaddon has led twelve Black Crusades against the Imperium. Some have been great invasions of whole Legions of the lost and the damned, others have been vicious raids with only a few companies of the most deadly Chaos Space Marines at his command. Each attack has sent the Imperium reeling and ravaged worlds close to the Eye of Terror. The High Lords of Terra live in fear of the day that Abaddon unites all of the Traitor Legions into an unstoppable horde and returns to play out the last acts of treachery begun by Horus ten thousand years ago."

"Abaddon dreams of forging a diabolic empire of his own from the blazing ruins of the shattered Imperium. Each world, each city destroyed, is a step closer to wiping the canvas clean so he can make his mark upon the galaxy."

"Abaddon the Despoiler, most feared adversary of the Imperium, has slowly but surely marshalled the forces of countless Traitor Legions to the point where he stands on the brink of challenging the Emperor himself as Warmaster Horus did before him."

To me, perhaps with the benefit of perspective of where the fluff is today, the way the 2nd ed codex is setting the scene is Abaddon has been bringing together the forces of chaos to the point where he can launch the greatest and final black crusade, the one which will bring the imperium to it's knees.

'12 failures' is nothing to do with retcon. It is something the playerbase invented.

There was a story in the SM omnibus where a single kroot killed 2-3 marines then ate their gene seed and became a Kroot-startes.

We must all join the Kroot-startes...

so in 10,000 years he might finally be ready to do something, cause vague plans. There are demon Primachs that haven't accomplished any were near that after their defeat at Terra but yea he's got the means, plan, and respect to take the universe

or we can take the play results from the 13th crusade event. he wins on Cadia, on the ground but quickly losses orbital control and is stuck between a rock and a top not.

Well it is one of his titles in any case.

Second, when did Calgar beat An'ggrath?

Blood Oath.

I think Khorne is trolling his own daemons, because it seems like he gives them all slight variations of "world's greatest dad" t-shirts.

Also, thanks for the reference. I'll have to look up Blood Oath.

Its probably more like they're the daemons that can talk to Khorne without being cut in half by his glare.
They're not his most favoured, they're his least hated.

- 10000+ pts
Imperial Knights- 5 Standard Knights / 3 Cerastus Knights
Officio Assassinorum - 4 Assassins
CSM - 500pts? Maybe? Its from the Officio Assassinorum box so I'm pretty sure its not enough to run in a CAD
Vampire Lords- I have no idea I bought it like two days before I left country and they're still in storage so I'll have to see when I get back.]

Which isn't saying much, given that they still get murderfethed by any and all SM characters.

Or he gives them all similar titles specifically to incite rivalries

And therein lies the real reason for daemons to be functionally immortal, so that Astartes characters can "kill" them over and over again.

Also taking into account that Calgar is actually sane, get's things accomplished and has Daemonic Power Fists purified by a Primarch. feth reality.

Can't believe how unlucky abaddon was. They are both mary sues I dislike but really abaddon should wipe the floor with him if it wasn't for him rolling one for drachynen twice.

In the fluff theres no question abaddon would slay Calgar. Though he would more likely sneak/teleport/escape from the battlefield before It would even happen because Abaddon.

Also I'd like to point out that MWG are lying gaks who fix the roles of their games to get results they think will draw in more viewers. There's no reason to watch them, they're incompetent and terrible.

Careful you don't derail the thread mate as they are pretty tight on it around here. He was pretty direct with his point anyway (fixing dice rolls for more entertaining games).

eldrad rekt abaddon in single combat in the 13th crusade and as far as I know calgar has better feats, having beaten both an avatar and the swarmlord. so he probably wins imo.
