WHFB: I collected skaven for eons and had so many rats I started Beastmen because I love everything in their fluff. Such a cool army. The holding out for as long as possible until they broke and fled hurt inside, though.
AoS: I have been expanding all the Chaos Gods sans Slaanesh. I WANT to do Slaanesh, but am waiting until I find out whats going on there. My friend got the starter set and I took the Khorne army and expanded it, with juggernauts, repainted warriors, and bloodletters. For Nurgle I got Morbidex Twiceborn, plaguebearers, nurglings, blightkings, Lord of Plagues, Gutrot Spume, and converted some other warriors. For Tzeench I repainted my minotaurs, doombull, bestigor, and added Vilitch the Cursling and 9 screamers. I want to add more to the Tzeench army right now because it too closely resembles a beastmen army painted Xerus Purple.
I am disappointed with Skavens treatment in AoS. They have sadly gone the way of the beastmen, who show up just to be b*tch slapped and driven off. They aren't interesting. They don't sound threatening. They have been stripped of their character. And on a side note, the only threatening weapons they have are Storm Fiends, which I loathe. When I got into warhammer, Skavens mysticism (and romanticized love of bells) combined with a poor grasp on technology balanced their fluff perfectly and made them the most interesting army in the game. Now they have hit some sort of ratty industrial revolution which has surpassed mankinds (WHAT??) and can create ED-209's which mow down opposition like blades of grass. At least for 2 paragraphs, until the good guys muster their troops and kill them. Then the plot resumes. *sigh*
