Okay so.

I hate priming black, so I've done a mid grey. Going to take a mixture of the advice in this topic and base coat a blue grey, then a paler mix, then a white and edge highlight with pure white.
I can't get the Tamiya pin wash in the UK to arrive before mid December, so I'm going to get a Humbrol oil wash and try my hand with that.
There will be a small amount of dirt and scratches, but not a great deal. Like a used family car, not a messy apocalyptic tank.

I forgot the prime the turret, so I'm just sat around until that cures.
I really don't want to spend days masking it, but hand brushing the blue was dreadful. White then mask and rim, or blue rims then mask?

Happens to us all. I bought a box of four LR battle tanks, and I was super pleased with them, and ran them in a large WHW tourney. My friend pointed out that the previous owner had glued every single hatch on inside-out, and neatly painted them.

Well. I set up for the night and unfortunately this happened, so I may have to wait a while. Mina tends to get bored after a little and leave if I ignore her, but if I remove her, she just keeps jumping back for the attention.

Step 1 (yesterday)

Step 2: Fenrisian Blue (two coats)

Now with bonus lamp. There we go. Blue.

Step 3, did a white with 1/3 Fenrisian blue
Step 4, did a pure white (pic)
Step 5, attempted a little edge highlighting with a titanium white. I've never done it before, so thankfully it was pretty forgiving.
Varnished it all.

I'm now at a point where I don't want to show pics until the treads and rims are blocked in because it looks rough as feth.

I can see how it's going to look, in my head. Hoping I can get some Mig panel wash in sky grey by the 5th.

Find a nice snug corrugated cardboard box with flaps and put it a little way away from your paint station (but still somewhere she can spy on you) and hopefully she'll be less attracted to the desk.

Mina is smart enough to know which box is getting more attention and to climb in that one. She has a lovely Amazon Prime box nearby with crackly bedding in it.

I've got the treads done, and started putting the blue back on, then metals, so after that, I should be able to post pics that don't make me cringe.

Don't cringe! Step by steps may be a massive pain in the exhaust port, but they are the most interesting and useful pics!

I'm very messy midway, nobody needs to see how badly I drybrush treads.
Considering we're looking at how the surroundings pull the fairly subtle main body together, I'm going to get neat base costs on at least.
