Hot on the heels of Leman Russ comes the 8th of the Primarchs for my brother. This time I bring to your Lorgar Aurelias Lord of the Word Bearer Legion.

I deviated from the "official" scheme probably the most of any of the Primarchs on Lorgar, but I felt the Legion scheme was a little dull, so I went for a hybrid between the loyalist silver/grey and the heretic dark red. I am overall pretty happy with him.

Curious as to why Angron is killing members of his own legion?

It is a reflection of the fluff that in the heat of battle Angron has no concern as to who or what gets in his way. It happens a fair bit in the fluff that he barges his way through his own forces to get to grips with the enemy.

Probably why Khorne got so interested in him.

The studio paintjob for Angron is set during the Battle of Istvaan III, where the Traitor Primarchs purged all of those within their Legions who they suspected would remain loyal the Emperor.

I really like Guilliman's cloak. It looks fluffy and cosy!

Resurrecting this one as I have FINALLY added to the Primarch collection and delivered the finished model to my brother on Boxing Day to add to the other 8 I have so far completed. Have had this one for far, far too long languishing and I found it quite hard to motivate myself for some reason.

I am not sure what GW was aiming for with this one as the scenic base I believe is no longer available for purchase (unlike the rest of the Primarch's) and I had to make some little conversions to make it detachable from the scenic base if you ever wanted to use it in a game. To "officially" attach it tot the scenic base you would have had to attach a couple of the parts.

But here he is the Primarch of the Blood Angels, Sanguinius....

I think he has turned out pretty well. The animal skin photographs a tad more yellow than it appears in real life, but he is done and I am halfway through the Primarchs now.

I totally agree with you on the base, but I didn't really have any ideas on how to change it without totally reworking it. I do kind of like it from the point of view that Leman Russ is a killer and warrior so he isn't as concerned with standing out among the crowd as say Fulgrim is. But, any ideas you have I am happy to think about.

Have you considered just darkening the blue on the base a bit so that it's more visually distinct from the boot/shin of the armor? Might work with just a wash.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

I have considered changes for most of the Primarchs. But since they are an ongoing gift and I don't have access to the models anymore I will just need to be satisfied with how they have turned out.
