Quick update on the assembly line.

Slightly slow going as I'm using the Calth Box, and a mixture of jump packs with some actual assault marines. Running out of spare bits :(

Working on my Night Lords again recently.

Someone up there said that your Night Lords conversions are 'off the hook' and that's about right. Keen to see how the Blood Angels pan out, but those Night Lords are phenomenal. I really love that chaplain.

Some further work on the lightning effects. Testing out a few practice models:




The corpses stack up, on what will be a Damocles Command Rhino


Struggle through getting the background lighting down for the lightening. Realised the hard way this needs to be done before most other colours.


You should be able to make out the lighter areas where I will be painting lightening strikes.

Attempting the lightning with a very watered down mix of Celestra grey, followed by Baharroth edge, then pure white on the connections.

Any ideas to make the "midnight Blue" background not as stark to the lightning, Its kinda the point I know but its seems unfinished otherwise?

Looking good dude. Loving all the command rhino covered in corpses.

The lighting looks great, don't sweat it. The airbrushing of the lighter blue before the white of the lightening really helps give depth. Doesn't look unfinished at all.

I had tried to stack them up on the dozer blade, but it obscured the heads already there.

Hey @EDC, I think I'll get there eventually. All brush work makes it a little trickier but just takes practice.

I don't think I ever posted my final version on the contemptor so here's that, & a Venator I've been working on briefly.

Unfortunately I finished the contemptor before I started doing the back-lighting on the lightning, will possibly go back to that. Oh and before you notice it, I have since bored out the barrels

Update on my Night Lords work. My Horus Heresy Apocolypse match is coming up at the end of May.

The forces are Dark Angels, Imperial Fists, Thousand Sons Vs Death Guard, Night Lords, Sons of Horus



My Xiphon base. With a little Dark Angel memorial site....



My 2.5K list (Minus Kurze) shaping up.

My main objective was to get as many base colours on them as possible, with some quick dry-brushing for lightening.

Still a long way to go on most, but super excited to get my Heresy on. Especially whilst playing against the First legion with Sevetar!

Took part in a 3 vs 3 Horusy Heresy game this passed weekend. Had an amazing time.

Dark Angels, Thousand Sons, and Imperial Fists Vs Night Lords, Death Guard, Sons of Horus

We setup some ground rules before we started. Namely, that each player had a warlord of which was worth a VP if killed. Line-breaker and first blood were NOT in effect.

To generate VP's we used tactical supremacy objectives. 6 Objectives were placed on the table.

The Traitors won the roll to take the first turn.

Been a while since my focus was placed on 30K. I thought it was going to be the Night Lords turn, but following the death of Alan the priorities changed.

So will patiently await their new book.

In the meantime I have a small 1k escalation campaign due to start in October. This is what I intend to run.



Can't wait to get working on them again, as my painting has definatley improved when looking back over these models.
