I'm not worried about it if my opponent is young, as long as he can act mature and not be TFG. I feel like a kid myself when I play, because its so much fun!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2024: 40 | Total models painted in 2025: 29 | Current main painting project: Tomb Kings

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.

Heh, I was around 5 or 6 when my older brothers started messing around with Warhammer. That was during the Rogue Trader + Epic era. Heh, got my first SM from brothers then... and I still keep headed back to the genre (I'm 31 now)

Back on topic though, I reckon more and more younger people are going to have a harder time finding people to game with; the video game monster has swallowed them.

Age of Sigmar - It's sorta like a clogged toilet, where the muck crests over the rim and onto the floor. Somehow 'ground marines' were created from this...

There's quite a few younger people who play WH40K. At my local GW there's usually about 2 or 3 people under 16 every day.

I was 11 when I started 40k, and there was two main groups, a few older guys who done competitive and kept to themselves and my group of about 18 who were age 11-15, there was lots of us and it was fun and sometimes we would play the older guys. eventually they all moved on after 6th edition as he became a joke so war machine and all replaced it, from the two groups we used to have (I'm 18 now) there is me, one friend who is 24 who used to play with us, a friend we recently introduced to the game, and one guy who used to play in the older group, 4 of us, just god to show how people have reacted to gw over the years. I even quit for a long time because of it but My local gw has a lot of younger players who are all marine fanboys and it's just bad to play them. I now play in another club with a lot of guys in their mid 30s and a few etc players even, I don't have the enjoyment I used to have young playing my peers but this is what I have to settle and play with.

Necrons: Triarch remnant - 10,000 points
Orks: waaagh! Buzzkill-20,000 points

I wish GW would take a closer look at their pricing scheme, if only for this reason... to get younger players into the hobby. The cost of even getting a small army going has just gone so high. No kid is going to be able to get into this hobby without pretty wealthy parents who are willing to let him spend quite a bit of money. Getting kids into the game at an early age to me seems like the obvious way to get new customers... those teens who start out with little Space Marine or Eldar armies turn into people in their 20's with loads of disposable income to spend on lots more plastic soldiers.

Coming from a guy who never has enough to get an IK, yes they should price it cheaper

H.B.M.C.- The end hath come! From now on armies will only consist of Astorath, Land Speeder Storms and Soul Grinders!
War Kitten- Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...
koooaei- Emperor: I envy your nipplehorns. <Magnus goes red. Permanently>
Neronoxx- If our Dreadnought doesn't have sick scuplted abs, we riot.
Frazzled- I don't generally call anyone by a term other than "sir" "maam" "youn g lady" "young man" or " HEY bag!"
Ruin- It's official, we've ran out of things to talk about on Dakka. Close the site. We're done.
mrhappyface- "They're more what you'd call guidlines than actual rules" - Captain Roboute Barbosa
Steve steveson- To be clear, I'd sell you all out for a bottle of scotch and a mid priced hooker.
