Wow that is a deal! Just put my order for 2 in!! Thanks Talys! I will let everyone know if it bills or not. I have a debit card and right now its at a measly $9 so.. LOL. Mine also said delivery by March-April. I found a deal on some of the Xacto Z series hobby knives last week where you can get 24 of the handles and blades for only $7.50 IIRC and just the blades themselves are about $7 for only 5. If it turned out to be a good deal I will post my link for everyone

I grabbed a set. We have Prime so there was no shipping. The delivery date is the same April/March as others have gotten, but it's worth the $17.50 risk!

I think I missed the boat on this one. I only see this set at the cheapest right now at $57. Am I not looking at the right thing?

I picked up 3 sets, even with the shipping plus customs charges its a great deal.

It's more than a little odd that they wont be dispatched for 3 months, I wonder what that's about?

They may have had a standing order with w&n which got in trouble during the kolinsky restrictions last year in America, now they are trying to clear old stock at cost

Err, and the 3 months delay is that they've not actually received the goods from w&n yet

No, the deal is gone. I'm guessing it was an error, or an inventory burnoff. But even for the latter, the discount was huge.

I hope it was not an error as they have made mistakes in the past and not honored the sale quoting that that its terms of use strictly state that no contract for sale has been formed until customers receive an e-mail stating that their order has shipped, meaning it has no obligation to honor screw-ups.

I hope it wasn't a mistake.... but I'm not expecting to actually get them given the low price and the 2-4 month dispatch time. Even if it wasn't a mistake that might mean there's no stock to ship to us (ie. they were already sold out before we got to them).

I got the email too. I'd keep my eye on the item page. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't show up on their site as in stock soon with the "correct" price. If so, someone might be getting a follow up email.

"We can't ship them due to lack of availability but here is a link to the same product as the suggested replacement for $86 also fulfilled by Amazon." To make it worse, the suggested replacement does not ship to Canada.

It sounds like a case of "we screwed up" that they won't acknowledge. Perhaps too much time and money spent on trying to deliver stuff by drones rather than actually counting what they have in-stock.

I am wondering if any of these actually shipped for $17.50. Although I expect a canned response quoting their terms and conditions, I wrote them an e-mail to complain. I would also keep a close eye on your credit card statement as the e-mail suggests that they might also screw that up.

I placed two orders. I got the email for one of the orders, but not the other -- yet. We'll see, but I'm not holding my breath.

On the bright side, I told Amazon that while I get pricing errors, they could have caught it a lot earlier and not held my money for a bunch of time. So they gave me a month extension to my Prime

I don't think they ever charged my card in the first place. Flicking through my transaction history I can't see anything that would be this order so I don't think it ever went through.

Called Amazon and complained about it. Got the normal "We're just a warehouse. Our supplier couldn't fill the order" schtick.

Was bumped up to a supervisor who told me they would look back into it and would email me if it happened. What a waste.

To be perfectly honest, they may not have charged mine either (I didn't check). Someone here on Dakka said they did, so I just took that as what happened when I complained, and the guy on the phone at Amazon never told me otherwise. He just apologized for the mistake and told me that it shouldn't have happened.

apparently there were a limited number (according to FB conversation I had with someone who'd seen it before it changed); they just never changed it after they ran out, but dropped the limited descriptor. It just sucks they let us hope :( but yeah not entirely surprising =/
