Update!
I finished the right arm. Pretty happy with the hand. Maybe it's too bulky?

The hand looks great and so does the arm. Thought this guy is meant to be fat, right? That arm is like 110% muscle.

If you left it as is, it would still look great, but food for thought

Been following from the start, bit dissapointed in how close the arm is the the body, very old school style modeling, imho i would of had the elbow a bit more away from the body, love the work on the belt though, and those muscles look ripped! Nice detail.

Love it. I have to say I agree with both arm comments. It looks a bit uncomfortable pose-wise and way too defined for somebody with a high BMI. Even if its a really great looking arm on its own merits.

As for 'Rambork', I don't get it lol. He looks like more of a 'Gob' to me.

That arm looks way too muscular for a fat Ork, so I'd flab it out a bit. Man, I am looking forward to seeing this updated again.

Yeah in fact I took body builders as reference. I should probably undo the muscle a little bit a use an ogre arm as reference instead. I'll start by undoing the shoulder (the deltoid) and I'll post an update.
Thank you for the writing idea, I'll think about it!

Thank you for this critique, it is very interesting. In my thought it is a rest, comfortable position for holding his machinegun. The machinegun will be quite large, so the arm should stay close to the body in order not to become too cumbersome. at the same time I did't want to cover his face with the machinegun, that's why it is directed on the side. Could you make a sketch of how you imagine the arm's position?

To make it more Rambo-like I should add a head band, camo, and a font resembling Stallone's movie. But a nice phrase could be better and yours is just great!

Thank you for your enthusiasm!! I have decided to add a bit of fat to the arm, thank you man .

Thank you everybody!
Before posting the WIP of the fatter arm I'll show you some mockups of the machinegun. Need your opinion there.

OH!

I get the arm positioning now! (I thought it was a 'nade til I zoomed on it just now)
And when it's holding its future weapon I get the Rambo reference (although He'd really need the bandanna you mentioned plus a hair squig in that case lol)

Im glad you liked my suggestion (maybe throw a couple "Da's" in there to make it roll better)

And bring on the updates

I think what everyone's missing is that he's going to be holding his dakka leaned back on his shoulder like a nonchalant badass.

All for it.

This is a mock up for the machine gun. Ok it is difficult to understand something from this crappy photomanipulation, but imagination can help. The other side of the mgun will have a small missile.
Suggestions?

cool. he doesnt look fat in the slob sense, more in the 'worlds strongest man' kind of sense.. where its just pure bulk. its a nice refreshing take on orks in my opinion, and it keeps with their theme.

looking great so far, love the sculpting on the face and arm!

I've liked the idea of doing some fat orks for some time now actually, seemed like something that could work well...

This dude looks like he should be a badmoon (loadsa teef = loadsa good food/drink! ) - not exactly sure how big he is though, nob? warboss? if he's big enough, I can see him as a badmoonz warboss with power klaw and "da dead-shiny shoota" or "kill-dakka", maybe 'eavy armour (to represent the "extra padding" )...although, a flash git kaptin - an eccentric gourmet/mercenary - would be a good fit too, specially with that big gun!...might need a touch more "flair" though (maybe a cravat? ) "Boss/Kaptin Wurrgob Ordz'a'Dakka" (strange-eater, loads of..."dakka" ) - "Big food, big gunz, big teef. - I'z da biggest, so I'z da best!"

ok, my feeble fluff attempts aside, he's looking brilliant so far mate, looking forward to seeing how he developes

I thought the same that he should be a badmoon. Lotta toyz! Also the bad moon color scheme is very good for orks imho. He is quite larger than a common ork, I'll post a size comparison soon. He surely could be a warboss, size-wise, but I also liked the idea of a dumb big secret weapon of the warboss, something like Ogryns for the Imperium; but I don't know how this idea is in line with the fluff. The idea of a gourmet-mercenary os good, it makes me think that I will probably have to stress the "food" theme by adding some food provisions under his belt.

Meanwhile some shells and bullets in the making. I looked for a decent ammo-belt sculpting tutorial but I didn't find anything that satisfied me, so I decided to do it the hard way.

I think that could work fine...is this just going to be the one model? or are you planning on making a few of them?

if it's just going to be the one, say you're just running a standard CAD force, with a warboss/other HQ choice as your warlord, you could run this guy as a second warboss with 'eavy/mega armour (he's so bulky, I think an argument could be made for it to count as "mega armour")...he looks like the warboss statline would be a good fit...but he wouldn't have to actually be "the boss"

if it's going to be a few of them, they'd probably also make for good 'eavy/mega-armoured nobz...like an elite retinue of the boss' biggest, meanest, toughest orks...or maybe a mad painboy's prize experiments?

...you can make pretty much anything work with ork fluff, with a little imagination

also, nice work on those bullets!...looks like a bit of tedious work though!

It's going to be only him, I'm too slow to make many and I have other projects in my list.
And yes, making the bullets in this way is incredibly boring; this explains why it was my last resort.

Ok now I see. This was my very first idea actually. I do not remember why I changed, but probably because I considered too difficult to calculate the arm position and weapon thickness so that it would just touch the shoulder.

I attach a wip of the weapon.
I am pretty happy with the badmoon glyph.
The chain will be connette to the shoulder pad and will represent a stabilizer for the weapon instead of the leather strap that I envisaged at first.
Jewellery chains usually have more fancy shapes so I decided to create it ring by ring from iron wire.

And this is the weapon's wip. This is the right time for suggestions and improvements.
I also have a question. How to make rivets? I was thinking to slice a plasticard rod but it seems difficult to make the slices thin and even.

Damn, that is a really impressive work, the arm looks perfect!

For the gun i will suggest to check the 40k ogryn bits, there are some really nice bits that can give you some idea for the ammunition (or for the gun).

For the rivets i don' t have some cool ideas but i can suggest you 2 things: you can do a new and shiny looted weapon so the gun won' t need so much work or you can use a toothpick, simple and effective.

Love the gattling shoota. I never do rivets so sadly I can't help you there. And as piratepizzadog suggested definitely look at the Ogryn Rippergun, the grip on that would be great for that impressive gun you've made him.

A very quick and simple method I've used is to drill dozens of holes into a sheet of plasticard (or anything really I suppose) and then press some Green Stuff over the top. After the Green Stuff has cured you can peel it off and you should have some nice rivets; there is a knack to it though as you don't want to press too hard with the Green Stuff otherwise you end up with more a sausage than a rivet.

You can buy half round beads for use as nail art as small as 0.5mm and people often recommend the beads from a water filter but I don't know how small they are. For anything under 0.5mm then the method I outline above is great because you can get very tiny drill bits but I've struggled to find beads that small.

Conversely, you could employ a razor saw and miter box to slice the plasti-rod.

And how did you make that glyph?! Looks great!
