Are people not considering the wulfen good? They look incredible.

I know some people here have said that warp talons compare well to them but looking at the two the wulfen seem far superior. I don't think they'll beat the best assault units as you've stated, but they are still incredibly powerful.

The consensus I am seeing here and elsewhere is that people HATE the models so, so, much... that it is proving a barrier to seeing their usefulness. Coupled with the old nugget of "40k is a shooting game, so assault is terrible," and you have a sense for where people's opinions are generally at this stage.

Me... I am thinking an army filled with MSU Wulfen and TWC with decent war-gear might prove competitive.

Yeah agreed. That sounds like a solid list that only falls down against flyers.

Except that Wolfin can take a flyer as their dedicated transport. A flyer that to my knowledge is not considered to suck. Good firepower and decent protection. So their flyers can provide protection against enemy flyers.

Its true, but as always, also meta contingent. Our meta has very few flyers so I feel like I could get away with one, or none of my own.

The flyer is okay, maybe good, but I don't think it can down FMCs and other flyers well. Not well enough to counter a spam

But flyer spam outside of Nids is not very common (maybe necrons can do it?) so I don't think it matters well. I'll probably go back to running SW as chaos now since the wulfen are back.

Incidentally, does anyone know of a good way to get six Fast Attack slots, with minimal tax? I can easily fit six geared MSU of TWC and Wulfen in a list, with 500pts to spare at 1850pts, but don't know what to do.

If you mean SWs specifically, CotGW Detachment with 1 WGBL and 2 servitors. 70 points and you can get 3 FA choices.

Sorry, I probably wasn't clear. I was looking for FA slots for Space Wolves specifically. Considering how cheap Bloodclaws are as objective holders, I might actually go double CAD, get Obsec and see how it works from there unless some super tasty formations emerge from the new book.
