For his side, his models were right on the edge of the terrain blocking my Trukks and of course he didn't deploy right at 12". I was assuming all my Trukks would be destroyed first turn and since the BullyBoyz Are Fearless I wanted them as close as possible to charge the next turn.
Well, he was running a Riptide with a Str 8 AP 2 Large Blast that hit all five, wounded all five, and I just realized I forgot to take the cover save for being in the wrecked vehicle craters!!!
Oh well. Also he was running Shadowsun with the dual Fusion and some other AP2 stuff. For most of them, FNP would have done nothing. But the tide also hit Turn 2 due to lucky rolling.
He had a couple of formations, one that allowed 3 or more units to combine fire and add 1 to BS. He also had an Etheral that allows pulse weapons another shot. Green Tide was the perfect target since he wouldn't overkill and in one turn took over 100 Str 5 hits to the face. luckily placed terrain, Mad Docs FNP, and most importantly my DLS KFF BM on Bike 5++ helped me survive that onslaught. Inv is so much better than Cover in this case. In two weeks it'll be 3000 points. I think the Stompa will come out for that one.
I wouldn't beat yourself up over that - it was a 6+ and even then you're lucky to get that cover save against Tau.

Remember that MANz are Slow and Purposeful so that means they can't run when you call Waaaugh unless you've got Ghaz doing it. that shortens their threat range by D6". However in a trukk with a boarding plank and ram they'll usually get their charges off by turn 2 even without that run first.
It also means that any kombi skorchas you have on them can't be used for Wall of Death since they can't fire overwatch.

I'll echo what's already been said. 3 - 5 in a Trukk depending on the size of the game and your opponents army. Launch them like a missile in your movement phase and watch things combust in your assault phase! Alternatively watch the whole thing fall flat as your Trukk explodes in a green blaze of Orky glory because it gets Melta'd.

If I had deployed second in that game my plan was to rush up with the Tide and have the Fearless MANz camp objectives in cover along with my Mek Gunz. We only play maelstrom missions and particularly for this mission holding/denying objectives was very important.

This thread encourages me to finally continue painting my Meganobs. I only occasionally use them in my speedfreaks list as I think they are rather expensive. When I do I put 3 in a trukk and give a combi-skorcha to one of them.

I converted 10 Nobz into MANZ using plasticard and trukk parts. Got a couple of MA Big Meks, one plastic MAN and 2 metal ones. I use them as bully boyz just fine. In trukks and gunwagons they are terrifying to an opponent.

TBH it was not too hard to pull off these kitbashes and save yourself a big pile of cash whilst doing it.
I made a thread on the waaagh forum here which has a step by step guide for one if them if you fancy a go yourself;

Just think, everyone converts up their Nobs to MANZ and we flood the world with cheap, characterful, bully boyz! :-D

Then I don't feel so bad. I almost always play bikes so that's good to know.
