Compared to the other Space Marine armies (besides Chaos Space Marines and Grey Knights), yeah. They don't have nearly as much. Are they hurting nearly as much as Chaos Space Marines, no. But they are by far the bottom tier loyalist Marine codex.

Are you serious? BA are pretty much the Orks of the Space Marines. They may have special stuff, but you don't see them taking any majors. Hell, the only competitive BA lists I've seen are Mephiston's Taxi Service, which is 6 Drop Pods for Skitarii Allies.

I'd say Grey Knights shouldn't be in the same category. They are very mono build but if you use that build your a mid level codex. Chaos and BA are screwed without allies or forge world

I am not sure adding some flamers to Salamanders was about competitiveness rather than flavor. Do you think it was about competitiveness?

Hybrid is a SoB player. He only has the ability to cherrypick and make it about how bad off SoB are at some point in a post.

Yes, I would love an official Stormtalon in my BA force, nice looking model, decent rules, reasonably costed points wise now that the skyhammer missile launcher is only 5 points. Would certainly make up for us and Grey Knights having our Stormraven pinched by the vanilla marine book.


In regards to the original post, I would just give Salamanders heavy flamers in their tactical squads and leave them as they are. They are already fluffly enough with their master crafted melta weapons and their fnp save against flamer weapons. They don't need anything from the Blood Angels, because none of our stuff is worth taking. If it was the other way around, I would gladly take the Stormtalon, Centurions, TFC and the Landspeeder storm etc for my BA's
