40K is already dead to me. I read the new codexs that have come out and the game is no longer recognizable to me. It has lost everything that made the game interesting in the first place.
This is increasingly how I feel. The fluff is increasingly awful, stale, poorly written, and one dimensional, while the art/models/imagery seems to be running after a more LoL/WoW vibe than its own classic atmospherics, and the game has simply gotten to the point where there's no sense of coherency or connection to the background at all anymore with allies shenanigans and detachment sillyness, and the unit balance is increasingly insane. Local events at my FLGS have dropped off dramatically in attendance, with IIRC 4 people showing up to the last one, when at the height of 4E and 5E, we actually had to turn away people a couple of times after filling up all 24 spots, and pickup games both at my FLGS and the big place closer to me in downtown are effectively nonexistent, to get a game you *have* to arrange something through FB or the like.

The game has already effectively been "AoS'd" as points and force construction are increasingly irrelevant, and the background effectively obliterated in terms of its reflection on most tables.

There are times when I heavily consider playing an earlier rule set. I first got into it during 5th edition, and I loved the fluff back then. Now I don't know how the fluff was in earlier editions, but the new stuff just seem so flat to me.

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Armies in disrepair: nothing new since 5th edition oh how I want to revive, but mostly old fantasy demons and some glorious Soul Grinders in need of love
