As a matter of fact this very campaign book has a line about Stormcast being men and women of the mortal realms who have been reforged.

Edit - Ref: Page 4

Even as the pain of his self-imposed exile burned at him, the God-King plucked the greatest heroes from the Mortal Realms, choosing the finest men or women, the greatest champions of a darksome age.

Token line - probably, regardless it is now canon.

It's a nice idea, and I'm glad to see it, but it needs to be followed up on. Representation doesn't count if its not, you know, represented. Give us some named Stormcast women in the canon fluff. Give us a Stormcast Commander model with her helmet off, showing of a clearly female face.

Also acceptable, although explicitly female coded armored bodies for some female stormcast would negate the idea that any stormcast shell could be hiding the revenant of a heroic woman. Also, if they went that way, I'd prefer they keep the bulky, powerful proportions rather than having the few female stormcast be petit and skinny (a complaint I have with Valkia on the chaos side, much as I like the model in isolation).

Honestly, though, some canon named female stormcast, even if they still inhabit magical bodies forged in sigmar's image, along with a considerably greater presence of female models in other factions. I'd love to see some Diablo-3-female-barbarianesque models for chaos, maybe new mortarch versions of isabella and khalida for undead, a new massive Alarielle model reborn in war aspect on par with Archaon and Nagash, new human, elven, halfling, & steamhead dwarf units with even splits between male and female models,

Sadly, not things I hold out much hope for, but we'll see.

Named might happen, but we all know there won't be artwork for then until the minis are ready to ship...
So, could be a while.

I have a feeling this is exactly what is coming, a little later this year.

Stormcast boob plate would be a really bad idea. With there full plate armour and likely body type(less swimsuit model and more magically enhanced cage fighter) any physical differences would really be to small to notice on a model. Putting it in the fluff would be the best way to go. Bonus points if a shocked mortal realises the leader of the storm host that just saved them all is a women and the rest of the Stormcast are all just "what's the big deal?"

Off-topic, but I have seen a female stormcast conversion, using an elder head.

Thanks for the matt! Seems these books are becoming really interesting with the amount of factions now involved.

I had been avoiding this thread, as I had planned on buying it (that money will now go towards Deathwatch Overkill however), I do really want to buy one of these big books to act as my own "players handbook" or something similar - maybe I'll get the next one instead :-)

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Bottle, get BoP if you like the story.
After two books of the Stormcast taking names and only suffering relatively minor setbacks, seeing Archaon royally feth gak up without really trying (or being that interested) is entertaining, and sets the scene for the forces of Sigmar getting a bit of a drubbing.
