If you have any / know anyone who used to play fantasy orcs and ran Night Goblin Fanatics, ask them.
Every fanatic box came with a small squig (free-standing, not glued to any sort of 'base') and I believe a snotling holding onto a mushroom, again free standing.

The high elf dragon kit has a hoopoe-lookin' guy in it. YMMV if it'd hang around while a titan is stomping through.

I'm getting a Miyazaki vibe off that.

Oh that wacky Desubot!
And unbelievably, for GD, they would. It's become stricter and stricter to the point where scenery, bricks, etc cannot be third party. Lesser contests like on the day tournaments, I'm pretty sure they don't care. But I don't know which particular event is held at Warhammer Fest, so I'll stick to GW until after that.
I believe the 100% citadel is less fanaticism and more brought about by manufacturers aping GW so closely that it's safer to outright ban it all. It's a shame because I don't know where that leaves me in regards to... leaves. I use lasercut paper scatter.
Excellent! Thank you!
And I figure if the Titan has stood still long enough to allow a hawk to settle on him, he's probably stopped long enough that various critters have popped back out of their shelters. At that size, he's not a predator, more of a mountain.

aw cheers guys
I've researched stuff like this before so have ideas on roughly where to look. I've got a book a write down my crazy ork ideas in and also a ever increasing folder on the PC where I keep lots of source photos to help if I ever get round to that particular project or just as inspiration for ideas or guides on certain techniques.

Wow yeah, this is actually becoming quite a useful thread.
I'm really astounded by how many little creatures and critters there are out there in among the bits and kits.
Super glad to know about the High Elf "Ibis" will deffs be grabbing one of them for a future project I have in mind

The new Thanquol and Boneripper box has two sets of really darling rats for the base. There are some mutant looking ones, but there are a few normal ones that could be used as is or turned into squirrels, skunks or chipmunks.
The Hellpit Abomination also has some very tame looking rats that could be used as is or given little greenstuff tails to turn then into something else. Being an older kit it is a lot harder to find bits for it than Thanquol, though.

So far I've managed to secure an Iron Hawk, the Wood Elf falcon, and many many Skaven rats.
I've decided that I'm going to fit a small slot into the base with a booklet you can pull out, that will be printed like a bird spotting book.
I'll have each critter listed with the source of origin and the poster who suggested him/her.

That's an excellent idea Buttery
Should stop people claiming use of 3rd party mini's and should certainly help to boost the interest in your piece.
I'm deffs looking forward to seeing your vision completed!
