Somewhere in south-central England.

No-one knows, except for GW, and even they can only monitor sales and attendance at events.

All we can say is that GW's next financial report, due in July, will give a better view of the overall position of the company. If their sales are up, it's a good sign.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

How likely is the canning? Surely they'd give people the points system they seem to be throwing a huff about before that, and, I mean, it's not doing GREAT, but isn't it improving? More people playing it and such?

There's no way of knowing. As with anything to do with GW, there's always those predicting that the company will have gone belly-up / been bought out by Hasbro before Xmas.

AoS is a great game especially if you are starting to play TT games. Things do need to be polished but it will get there eventually. If the player base in your neighborhood is that large id go for it.

You can easily get into the game now for a decent price, just check out Start Collecting armies.

Buy some used GW fantasy models off eBay. They are a dime a dozen these days since most people dumped fantasy like a bad habit. I have seen the 2 player starter set selling for around $60 on eBay.

That's mostly true. Though Bretonnian models are skyrocketing in price along with some other models that even GW sell at more reasonable prices.

Makes you wonder if that's the reason they went out so fast....

I think AOS is a great game to try out, especially if you enjoy X-wing. The rules are similarly simple. I would not worry about the competitiveness because AOS's enjoyment comes mostly from story-telling and narrative battles. I have yet to hear of anyone making competitive AOS lists within my local meta
