I paint mine copper as they are coils, which i assume must propel the super heated gasses or something.

Mine were brassy but same reason.

The plasma is what leaves the gun. If the coils are glowing, it's about to go ka-bloo-ey!

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Sci-Fi plasma weapons never make any sense since they don't act at all like real plasma weapons. And yes, there are real plasma weapons: they're called flamethrowers.

Flamethrowers are not plasma weapons.

Some ordinary combustion flames are hot enough to be thermal plasmas, so maybe. Though a typical "jet of burning gel" flamethrower isn't likely to get that hot, on purpose; incomplete combustion by-products are part of what makes them extremely deadly.

But they aren't ionized, which is a basic requirement for any "plasmatic" material. Heat is not the only indicator that something is plasma, though it is a major component.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Is there any lore reasons as to why some plasma weapons are green and others are blue?

Like, model wise... I like the look of the blue plasma. Its more, artistic.....
Lore wise.... I don't really know

Blue is the easier level, like Squirtle or Luke in episode IV.
Green is the harder level, like Bulbasaur or Luke in episode VI.
Red is evil, like Charmander or all Sith.

Bruh, Bulbasaur is super easy level, beats the first 2 gyms with ease and resists the 3rd.

I usually paint my plasma blue since I like how blue looks with my models' red armor. But my 30k World Eaters will likely have red plasma since I think that looks better with the white armor. Artistic license is all it is.
