white scars narrowly beat out ultramarines here though i might reevaluate that with the new psycher powers they are game breakingly powerful

White scars chapter tactics are too good. Hit and run centurions ftw.

Lore wise, I'd have to study more but I like the whole idea of the Iron hands, but calgar is a boss...

Too many choices :(

Calgar punched out a Avatar and beat a Swarmlord in round two.

Severax died like a punk to Shadowsun, losing at his own game. Pugh went out like a chump. The White Scars CM hasn't done anything, Tushan's only notworthy thing is giving a marine malevolent an arse kicking, and Stronos hasn't done much either.

And if you want to count helbrecht, well, he is still busy trying to recover his pride from Imohtek.

Calgar is clearly best codex marine chapter master.

Oops, I just read the title and hit Black Templars. They're certainly not the greatest...but I like them the most.

Otherwise I would have gone for White Scars.

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

Kantor is a pretty big badass, assuming you prescribe to the hinted-at idea that the Officio Assassinorum had something to do with the CF fortress monastery going boom.

Helbrecht shanked a Daemon Prince to death with just a combat knife and led the space campaign at Armageddon. He's also already paid Imohtek back for his hand.

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

Yep that is correct. The Black Templars lead by Helbrecht attacked Imohtek and his flagship, The Inevitable Conqueror, and basically destroyed it but Imohtek ran like a wimp due to "logical" reasons to save his hide. In return Helbrecht sent The Inevitable Conqueror into the nearest sun and swore another Oath to kill the coward .

Probably Ultramarines.

White Scars are good but like any non-UM chapter they force/dictate a certain play style. Ultramarines can do it all and have tons of special characters to boot.

It's White Scars. Ultramarines may be the most popular, but White Scars are the mlst powerful. That's the reason you see tons and tons of blue vehicles and marines with white scars chapter tactics on top tables at tournaments.

White scars tactics are highly overrated. Tactical marines with hit and run? Absolutely worthless. Scout on razorbacks - not bad but - is it better than 6+ FNP and IWND on every razorback? I'd have to say no - the army as a whole functions as a bullet sponge - Iron hands syenergize best. Lets also not kid ourselves - Ultra marine tactics are the best - unfortunately every chapter gets them for free in gladius strike force.

So in my opinion - Ironhands are the best in gladius and Ultramarine's are the best at running everything else.

Why consider tacticals with hit&run? Bikes>foot sloggers anyway. You don't see white scar tacticals because tacticals are worse than bikes.

(silly as scars without tacticals is. By fluff tacticals form the core of scar armies...But ah well. That's what you get when chapter tactics were introduced)

Another pet peeve of mine. Codex hopping with most powerful rule. Coupled with chapter tactics you cannot even be sure someone's marines use same rules next game!

If by some miracle you see fluffy sight of white scar tacticals in rhinos you can be almost sure they are NOT playing with white scar rules.

Grumble grumble.

Excuse me? My White Scars Stormlance Tactical Squads popping in and out of their transports each turn would like to have a word with you.

Altough Iron Hands received a pretty huge buff with IWND on all their vehicles, so I'd say it's a tie now.
