Hard to say. They may just believe that they used it badly, meaning that if you did it right this time, you could get away with it. Alternatively,Magnus' actions could be taken to imply that he's simply decided that doing anything at all in the physical verse will redound to Tzeentch's credit, and so shows his independence by deliberately not being involved with it anymore, and just meddling in the Great Game instead. A sort 'take my ball and go home' approach.
Regardless, I don't think either Magnus or Ahriman have any massive love of Tzeentch and his games (They've cost the two of them too much over the years), and I don't think either would deliberately work for him/bring his plans to fruition knowingly. And that being the case, I don't see the majority of the Thousand Sons going against the trend set by their Primarch and Ahzek. It's why out of all the Traitor Legions, they're the least likely to rock up on the field of battle (unless it's a Space Wolf grudge match) or work to subvert the Imperium. They have their own personal motivations/goals, which don't really fall into the broad category of 'Submerge the Universe in Chaos'.
