You're better off with a cad or two. It's more flexible and has better rules.

Tau arent exactly heavy in obsec......

You're forgetting +2 to mob rule which is a huge nerf. Orks are the only army out there with ld issues and regular mob rule at least helps you cope with them to an extent.

I'm guessing "Tau aren't heavy in Obsec", means Obsec which is T6, 2+/5++ and has 5W...

So orks have a bad name at the moment, but only because the internet is lazy.

Yeah that must be it. We are all not winning games to tau because we too lazy to try out this "new and inventive" trukk lists.

On a more serious note why in morks name would you ever include Ghazz and so many kitted out big meks in that list. They just seem all so point inefficient.
Da fixer Uppers Whut.... Are you seriously suggesting that you repair AV10 open topped vehicles vs tau.

Ny buddy and I took Orks to the tournament today. he took second i took 6th with two wins and a narrow loss. The Tau guy was beaten by turn two basically.

He just plodded forward, then multichzrged and powned face basically. I never got to play a Tau player in the tournament but that's basically the same formula thats always worked.

I agree my mate has hammered my other tau friend several times now using bikers deff koptas trukks and wagons the tau player doesn't have enough time to kill enough before they crash into his lines.

We have a decent board as well with balanced terrain so when the ork player uses it correctly Id say he regularly gets around 70% of his force to the tau and as you would expect the tau cant handle that many orks.

Yip. Bouncing Tau off the table requires just one thing: fast melee. That's it. if you dont have it, well, you are going to have to play Warhammer to win but if you have it, you're probably okay.

Tau as allies has become a "thing" with players and frankly the combination of a Riptide Wing into an enemy's force can be QUITE annoying because the melee weakness of Tau can be compensated for through allies.

In thoe cases, the Orks have got to make sure they have uits that can run interference for the heavy hitters so they can still hit the Tau lines, but have time to brace for impact against the compensating parts of the enemies forces. I do this with Trukks.

I often play my brother who has orcs vs my tau, we tend to hover around 50/50 in win/loss. My biggest problems are his deffkopta's doubling out my crisis suits with the rokkit launchers and anything that gets into melee. Forget about the orc walkers they are to slow and vulnerable to missile spam. I found that his warboss with mega armor and lucky stick is almost unkillable as he lookout sirs any AP1/2's on the boys and anything else just rolls off him (there is only so much ap1/2 you can bring).

Currently my brother was focusing on battlewagons which are tough to kill, nothing tau has really stands a stance at killing them frontally (at a decent rate/without suiciding) although the ghostkeel + stealthsuit formation is quite decent, but if your opponent is not running that they are really tough (buffmander + missile pods is still quite potent if they can get the side, but this can be partially negated with proper manouvering).

From my experience tau vs orc is very coin flippy either way. If I go first and have good rolls on my shooting the game can be basically over by turn 2, but if not and he gets into CC you lose the game. Proper deployment plays a good part as well, the amount of times I messed up deployment allowing him to get in close quickly are more then I care to remember.

I'd agree with Jancoran and NewEngOli the best strategy is just get into melee asap and tau crumbles, as single power claw takes out a unit of suits easily (either by sweeping or outright snipping them in two).

I would leave the large squad of nobs out and just flesh it up in other regards too easy to instagib the pricey squad unless they were in a Battlewagon
