You guys play it differently than us. We roll for who deploys first. Winner chooses to either deploy and go first or deploy second and go second. Then seize is optional for the 2nd guy if he wants to try.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

There is a difference between the way the ITC and regular warhammer does it. So i suppose you need to be clear on which way you're playing.

Well, I believe here everyone agrees we're using, as base, GW's method. ITC is an alternative - someone using it should be clear about it, not who's using GW's.

Uh... in any event... Null deployment is, again, an excellent tool in the tool bag. if you're playing it the way it is played at the major tournaments...which is the perspective I come from, as i am a tournament player... then you wont find it difficult. if you use a more standard deployment method, then its still not difficult because the only change is that you will do it when you win the roll for deployment.

and depending on the units you use for it, it may change literally zero.

For example: the Infiltration Cadre i just used at tournament will STILL pull off its shenanigans, deployed normally or not, as regards the Deep Strikers (of which there are many in my list).

So... the thing to hone in on is the technique itself when it is in fact called for.

Hold out bait to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and then crush him.

Thanks for all of the great replies!

So it is viable for Tyranids, but I'll just have to deploy a few units (I'm thinking a flyrant and a venomthrope and maybe a tervigon and a venomthrope) in some cover and hope they survive long enough for my other units to hit the table.

Also, I assume such a strategy would benefit greatly from a comms relay, so I probably need to include an aegis or a bastion.

Hive tyrant has an option to improve reserve rolls if iirc. That and getting your flying tyrant into swooping to protect it with jink. Its not an easy model to hide
