Would you believe my most agressive army list is Fire Warrior Tau? Run about 48 FW behind a moving wall of 20 Gun drones backed up by some suits, Longstrike, Sniper drones and an Ethereal for Storm of Fire.

I just advance the the whole thing like slowly across the board pushing units back. The drone wall pretty much impedes any charges against the FW and provides a cover save agianst all the ap4+ shooting Charging a drone squad triggers supporting fire at 46+ shots which gets ugly. It has let me get lucky enough to wipe a unit on the charge.

I'm currently putting together an Ultramarines list I'm looking to play very aggressive with.
Gladius strike force with minimum tac squads with max assault marine squad with jumppack chaplain in the demi-co and a 1st Co. Task Force with one Sternguard drop pod to drop on the enemy doorstep and 2 squads of assault termies in land raiders to get in amongst them.
Excited to see how it goes...

Might consider dropping the raiders, adding a beacon to the drop pod and maybe the Sargs. Then max out on your Assault Termies so you can combat squad for double the drop teams. The beacons will help you drop then where they are really needed.

Ripetides don't get Stomp. And for the most part are not great in CC. Stormsurge is the stompy one.

I don't mean the rule stomp. I mean killy. They are actually quite good in CC. Just not evaporate a whole squad instantly good.

They turn units into fine red mist at an alarming rate. That's why you need to wreck 'em early.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

3+ invul, 2+ savs with 6 toughness makes a Riptide reasonably able to at least hld its own. It wont always but underestimating its ability to might not be wise. Even the unluckiest guy can roll three 4's to hit and 3 2's to wound and ruin someones plan to assault it. Lol.

Hold out bait to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and then crush him.

I just usual hit thme with a 10-15 model blob of fearless gribble and let it mulch away for 3 or 4 rounds. 40-60 points to stop and average 200pt unit is just fine. I can see doing that with a combat squad or fulll squad of MEQ as being a lot less fun though.
