I think it is absolutely worth renting. I'd give it a buy myself, even with my reservations.

It's worth owning, if you like collecting the Batman animated stuff. Which I do. I have to pick it up. And I will, next time I'm in the mood to watch it. I won't rent. I'll buy.

I'm watching it right now. I just finished the Batgirl part. To be honest, it was fine. - It felt like a modern take on a Batman: The Animated Series episode. Sure, it was no "Heart of Ice" but it was fine.

I was surprised there was no break in between the two parts, it just goes straight from one section with a bridging scene, straight to the next.

One thing I'll note so far, the music isn't as prominent as the old BATS episodes, which is a bit sad. I was watching one last night and every moment there wasn't dialogue, there was a major musical accompaniment.


EDIT: Finished The Killing Joke portion. That was good, yay Hamill, always yay Hamill! I kinda feel like they shouldn't have tried to do the art stle thing they did though. - The style in the first half felt better, even if it wasn't too close to the style.

Of course, maybe *I'm* going loony and there wasn't an art style change at all. In any case, I'd also prefer it if the first halfs style was echoed in the "New 52" style animated films (EG Bad Blood / Justice League V Teen Titans).

Overall, thumbs up for me. As a film though, Under The Red Hood still wins. - My ranking would probably be: Red Hood > Phantasm > Killing Joke > Flashpoint Paradox > Superman VS The Elite > Assault on Arkham > Batman / Superman Apocalypse
