Thanks so much guys!

I've been pretty busy these past few days, so I havn't gotten my guys based yet. I decided to go back and touch up my first two a little bit now that they're off their 25mm bases and can be worked on, so that's taking a little bit of time as I strategise my next model. I'll be back later this week with all three based and a fourth pinned and ready to go!

Cheers again for the inspiring comments, I really appreciate it and it makes me want to paint more!

Re-basing complete! I'll start a new thread about it so we can talk about the intricacies of re-basing.

Excellent info about the grass, guys. My only concern with tufts is that I've already got the base finished. I figure that they would only look right if you glues them onto the bare plastic base before applying the sand, otherwise they would "sit" up ontop of the rocks and look added-on. I will probably pick up a box and see if it looks good, but I will probably just use it on a few other models in the squad for variety.

That said, would static grass be better for applying over the already finished bases? I think it would work its way into the rocks a bit better.

Tufts look fine over sand. Just be sure to PVA them down.
