I love 'em. I have a small pile of stripped metal Cold Ones I used as Exodites in 2nd just waiting for inspiration and time to be redone.

Thanks! I like the old ones "scouty" look very much and I'm still wondering how to achieve something similiar with modern plastics/resin minis, so I can have both armoured knights and distinctively lighter outriders side by side. While old rangers still fit with a lot of Eldar range, old Cold Ones have significantly less detail on them and much more... cuddly and playfull look when compared to new plastics. I'll probably hunt more of those old Rangers, try some DE head swaps to break "clone" effect and mount them on new Cold Ones. Unless I can find some other suitable scouty looking minis to work on...

Now even more Exodites Just after doing my "modern classic" Knights Death Masque was released and I ended up with "spare" Eldrad. I'm not a huge fan of footslogging farseers and while I like new model, it had no use for me on the tabletop. But it has so nice pose and overall looks, I just couldn't leave him in a drawer, so I ended up converting him up into Exodite Worldsinger. At first it was a straightforward concept of putting Eldrad on a Cold One and call it a day (I had one Cold One left after making four Knights), but he ended up looking like a bizarre space priest riding on a scales covered donkey... But then I found drakespawn charriot and everything came together. So here it is - Exodite psyker riding on an antigrav charriot:

Wow! That is fantastic. I love the scaled cloak.

Thanks! That is my most involved kitbash to date and I'm really happy with the final effect. I might slightly re-do the scaled cloak to fit/flow a bit more inline with the rest of the fabric. But first I have to become accustomed with how to work with Green Stuff, so I don't destroy what I already have entirely by trying to make it slightly better...

My last Exodite to date (by far not the last I plan to make). I have always loved Fuegan model (it is the original lead version, bought in 1998) and he just screams Dragon Lord to me. That is why this conversion is rather subtle one.

Mounting him on a dragon deals with the main flaw of old Phoenix Lords - planar poses. It is still WIP, but as I'm playing my Exodites as a fandex and not "count as" army, I don't plan to mount any heavy weaponry on it, just make the saddle more space-elfish as my steering implants and saddle emitter are rather subtle and probably add some armour on the dragon. And it will be rebased (including rework of the rock formation).

It took a while for me to finally sit down to my Triumvirate of Ynnead box (and I got it on preorder... yes, more than a year on the shelf). I like the idea behind Ynnead, but I wasn't sold on the models really - all three of them lacked something or had too much on them. So they went on a grey pile of shame untill I finally figured out what I wanted to do with them. And it wasn't straightforward, as there are very few conversions of those models - the most popular are Corsair Baron/Archon conversions of the Visarch, couple of headswaps for Yvraine (not counting all of the gorgeous Inq28 figs based on her which aren't Ynnari) and nothing major on the Ynvcarne - one Cegorah and that's it. My conversions of Visarch and Yvraine are rather subtle and nothing all that new, so I'll post them later. But I'm really proud of what I squeezed out from Yncarne sprue (except for a tiny bit of green stuff everything except of dead Harlequins on the base comes from original Yncarne model). I actually build it "by the book" first, but my problem with the original sculpt is that it is really, really heavy - swirl obscures the Yncarne him-/herself just too much and lacks the eldar/elf lightness. And I really hate original hair - they just don't make sense. So I ripped it apart into logical pieces and tried to find another form of the swirl. It took couple of days of dry fitting and "leaving it overnight" to look at it with a fresh mind. This is what I finally came up with:

The only thing to do now is a couple more dead Harlequins on the base (there are two right now, but I intend to place a whole dead Troupe there).

And don't expect to see it painted anytime soon, I STILL try to finish my first batch of Guardians I started painting last December, after them waiting more than 18 years as little grey aliens...

Ok, so now that the base is finished, I can post the overall result.
