Hello everyone! Finally finally FINALLY! I have given this miniature my absolute best, to stand out among all of my Custodes! I learned a lot of stuff painting this guy, I think I improved my face painting as well as gems, I also decided to freehand a tattoo, just to distinguish him a little bit more (Tattoos and tribal markings are cannon for Custodes as seen in the Master of Mankind book by ADB, like Ra and Diocletan). But the most important technique that I somewhat learned was how to paint marble, surprisingly easy and fun. Hope you enjoy my work. Next up I will be torturing myself with painting a golden Land Raider. (May the Emperor have mercy on my soul)

It took me a long long time to paint this guy, but I can proudly say it is complete and ready to serve the Master of Mankind! Such a special model deserves a name of course, and the name given to him is Theoceles! Gorgeous model by sculpt and detail, it was very time consuming to paint, but I think it is well worth it. For now I am waiting for the release of Custodian terminators, meanwhile I will finish working on my standard bearer and maybe, just maybe get some jetbikes! As always, stay tuned for more!

So I decided to do something special for the next squad! I decided to do gladiator style Custodes, and I want to represent the gladiator types as much as I can. This one should represent a Trax. The next one will be a retiarius! Let me know what you think!

Neat idea, though it'll be tough to make them stand out as their archetypal classes beyond the helmets and similarly shaped weapons. Curious to see where you go with this.

Layer with Screamer pink widening it out as you work towards the legs

Yes correct that would be the proper Latin name for it. I do agree that keeping it archaic is it a bit difficult as I do want to retain the Custodes armor, well because they are the Custodian Guard, and still wear their armor unlike after the Emperor has been slain. I might experiment with the arms a bit, I see some potential there.

I literally have a chapter I'm building around the roman legion and specifically a gladiatorial backbone. Can you pretty please share where you sourced the helmet, sword and shield from? They're on point!

@Monkeh the helmet is from Scibor miniatures. The shield is from the Stormcast Eternals prosecutor set from AoS with an adeptus custodes transfer from Forgeworld. For the arm I used one from the Blood reivers set and the shoulder pad for that arm is from the Dwarf Ironbreaker set. The sword is the one you get in the Ultramarines upgrade sprue and I cut off anything that has the ultramarine symbol.
