Yea, It's a nice touch to have the models 1 colour "pre-painted".

(non-ironic post btw).

Agreed, takes me ages to paint anything and it's nice being able to play games in the meantime without everything being grey.

The fact that it's blue rather than grey should immediately suggest that it's a different material.

LOL. Yeah because each different plastic has a distinct color?

Manufacturers do add pigments to plastics to change their color. But that doesn't change the material (other than the fact it has fillers).

I'm pretty sure the plastic that GW uses is HIPS (high impact polystyrene). There can be variances in production runs.

The addition of pigments or calcium fillers may have made it more dense, but that doesn't mean it is a different material.

And by the way, I worked in plastic manufacturing for 6 years, so it's not like I am pulling this out of my rear.

You should work on not being such a sarcastic jerk, especially when it comes to things you know nothing about.

Indeed ... I was appalled to see such an uninformed and illogical comment in such an assertive tone.

For the record, the majority of industrial polymers are colorless (and even clear, yes) by default, colored with additives (and sometimes almost impossible to buy uncolored).

Also, the immense majority of the plastic you see in your daily life is either PE or PS, which are both clear when pure.
