I remember back about a decade where FW discontinuing stuff was part of the norm. Molds wear out and they're more interested in making new stuff rather than hang on to older stuff. Only really popular items remained on sale back then (mainly Baneblades and Titans). If I remember, there were entire lines of flyers lost to the aether because they didn't sell nearly enough to justify trying to preserve the molds beyond the normal production run.

The only reason these items are remaining is because they're popular. They make money. If the HH products suddenly became hated by the community, you'd bet they'd be dropped without a second thought. Hell by conventional wisdon, the Death Korps of Krieg should have long ago been discontinued, but they're popular enough to be kept in production for this long.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Actually, I think 30k its a very good thing. Its the wet dream of Space Marine Lovers, and I don't say that as a bad thing. More power to them.

The problem its that this has not affected the proliferation of Marines in 40k, even worse, marines from 30k are coming to 40k too. Now you have 3 kits to the basic trops of marines with slighty different styles of armour. Eldar still have all their aspect guardians with the 2nd models.

And I think that the "Marines sell because they are supported, and they are supported because they sell" its very very ciclic. Of course they sell, if you give them all the screen time. At this point, GW would be mad if they stop focusing on Marines. Its a vicious circle.

So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

It would be nice if some of the discontinued IG vehicle kits would be make it to GW's plastic line. Perhaps as additional build options for the Chimera and Leman Russ kits. Or sell them as plastic conversion kits. Scratch builders would love that.

To you maybe. To those of us who have grown utterly sick with 40K, it's been anything but irritating.

So... how exactly is this relevant to what I said, at all?

If some of the rumoured changes for 8th ed pan out, I wouldn't be surprised if the Tau vs AdMech has been purposely held back to make it more compatible.

I'll be glad if this is the case as well. If it got delayed this far, may as well delay it until 8th. I'm just annoyed it wasn't released when first stated.

I would love a tau/ admech too, forgeworld would be nice but gw plastic starter kit would be even better.

I highly doubt they would make such a move. They'd be shooting themselves in the foot on both fronts.

Part of what makes 30k interesting is it's distinct separation from 40k. And 40k benefits from having 30k alongside it, rather than as a subsidiary.

Making them the same game isn't something anyone asked for, I think, nor would it make either game better in any measurable sense. All it would do is alienate the fans from both sides.

Sadly, not possible. Not enough Space Marines.

GW has been releasing more and more kits, there have been a few non space marines ones. gangs of commoragh is the only current one, but they seem to be pimping admech so space marine players would probably buy it for the ally.

Have we had a single starter or multifaction box that doesn't contain Marines? Gangs of Comorragh is a monofaction board game.

The Knight one.
Two of the Stormcloud Assault boxes.
All of the non-Space Marine "Getting Started" boxes (they could as Starters, right?)

perhaps I am just wishing, but I have to many marines and I don't see why they would not pimp the new imperium army, throw in a formation sheet so admech plug right into an imperium army plus tau. but you are probably right it is unlikely

Starter box : Dark Vengeance, Deathstorm, Stormfang, Black Reach, 3rd Edition Starter, Battle For Macragge, 2cd Ed Starter, 1st Ed Starter.

SC! are all mono-faction, except for Skitarii, but that doesn't count.

Knights is not a starter box, nor multifaction. It's a board game.

Stormcloud assault is not a starter box. It's a board game.

Yeah, a 40k starter set with no marines on it its not a thing we are gonna witness in this lifetime.

But GW, if you have a inspiration and want to slap me in the face and make me eat my words, no problem!

GW, if you want my legitimate respect, do it.
