Shelf decoration, my Skitarii codex is a veteran at this point, definitely got my money's worth.

My Tau codex was purchased in like December. Sigh.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

Well, I like to flip through older books for fluff, artworks and older models. I bought the old 3rd edition Chaos codex half a year ago just to see what's it all about and it surely was a good read, though I'll probably never need its rules. When 8th comes I'll look for Traitor Legions on Ebay.
I must say I don't really understand that attitude about burning books in this thread. For me, every book is valuable. If you don't have a use for yours, sell them or spend them to a library.

honestly even old codexes are woth a fe wbucks, I have picked up several on ebay for a few bucks to have the artwork and the fluff. I also have all the old rulebooks and printed/saved on HDD and in the cloud the latest FAQ for all armies so that in the event that I question how something used to be or somebody says they want to play an older ruleset I am equipped for it.
