What irks me is the having to set aside points for Horrors to split. That cost should be included in the unit cost, not considered the same as summoning.

I kind of agree. I don't mind paying points for the total models, but at their current price, Pinks are garbage. Their price should have be closer to Blues to make it appealing.

Infinite free 4++ invul horrors is bad, hey got rid of thousands of free pts for a reason. It honestly sounds like you just don't like 8th, not​ really cover or daemons(who did not take near as big a Nerf as people are complaining about). Just the edition in general. Which is fair, as I liked 7th as well, but let's face it. Thats cause we played broken armies that nothing ever died in(wether you were tzeentch or nurgle didn't matter you still didn't die). Now it's an edition where literally everything can kill everything and we gotta adjust to that new meta. Not complain our units are killable now xD
