The problem is cruise missiles. Forget about expensive ships (except mass-HP bricks like the Ghost), the new meta is massive alpha strike with 5-dice attacks stacking focus + TL + chips for near-guaranteed 5 hits. Nym is going to be deleted on turn 1.

Doesn't matter. They'll have sold you enough copies of the Scurrg so you can field all of those missiles that they'll be laughing all the way to the bank.

Oh, sure, the scurrg is going to sell just fine thanks to cruise missiles if nothing else. But taking a loaded scurrg in anything resembling a competitive environment? That's a suicidally bad idea.

It sounds like a risky proposition at the moment, I'll grant you that. I'm willing to see how local metas will shape themselves, tbough.

The 4 TLT Aggressor list could weather the storm, with lucky green dice, sometimes.

The problem already existed, albeit for a few more points. I saw a 4 Gamma Vets list that threw 4 Plasma Torps with deadeye and LRS and that was brutal. A Ghost would reliably never get to fire under such a barrage. So 5 dice with focus and TL? yeah I can imagine.

I don't think so. The terrifying list I've been looking at (not my own invention, from someone who had early access to the cruise missile rules) is PS 11 Vader, PS 11 Quickdraw, and PS 8 Inquisitor, all with cruise missiles. The alpha strike is going to delete at least one of your TLTs in the opening salvo, and then it's your three generic TLTs against three aces. Or there's the Roark + 3x swarm tactics/deadeye a-wings list. A bit less accuracy, but three missiles at PS 12 plus a PS 12 TLT. When you're hoping for luck just to have a chance of winning you aren't looking at a viable list.
