Have you guys taken a look at the Relic Leviathan Dread? One of those with dual Grav Bombards is capable of one shotting anything from a Russ tank to a 20 infantry horde. It will be good at mowing down elite units too. Primaris will go down just as easy as conscripts to this thing, even Kastelans will die in droves to it. Hell, with above average dice it is capable of one rounding a Knight.

This is the first thing I've seen that seems truly broken to me.

It does seem a bit broken, and weird that the Chaos one isn't, as it can only take one.
Should have given the Imperium one the same thing in my opinion

Remember the Relic rule - a Guard player can simply lump a Baneblade into any army where he has enough points. To get that Fellblade in (a Lord of War), the marine player needs some spectacularly large detachments and they won't be appearing in 'normal' games.

+2 saves in cover, boost Raptors within 6" to re-roll misses and add +1 to all moves, can 'deep strike' (pop out from shadows) with three other Raptors units. Malice is pretty nasty - Range 30", Assault 3, S5, AP-4, Dd3, ignores cover.

Sir has good taste.

T7, W14, Sv3+

Punisher Rotarty Cannon is Range 36", Heavy 18 (enjoy), S5, AP-1, D1. If the tank does not move, it re-rolls failed hit rolls of 1 on that gun.

Indeed, I was reading up on him last night as a possible addition to my Death Guard.

Sigil of Corruption gives a 4+ invun, add +1 to hit rolls for Tainted close by, and nearby Poxwalkers re-roll Disgustingly Resilient rolls of 1.

He kicks out two psychic powers and can unbind (sorry, deny witches) three times.

Not going to do points, I am afraid as I use Power Levels myself (happy to talk about those) and if I am not going to be adding all wargear together for myself...

Indeed - a Heavy Psycannon (Range 24", Heavy 6, S7, AP-1, D2), and a Doomglaive (S+3 (9), AP-3, Dd6, with 4 attacks).

The ruins of the Palace of Thorns

Raptors get no chapter rules, but Lias Issodon allows deployment shenanigans for a few units, and is pretty good himself.

I am happy with Lugft Huron and Malakim Phoros. Bit disappointed that Ahazra Redth has no mirage power. Thulsa Kane is good too. Armenneus Valthex is fun. Corien Sumatris and Carnac Commodus are a bit meh, but fine for their cost.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Hmmmm Lias still looks good. Hate that you can't take count's as Special Characters anymore, I don' want to take pure Raptors.

120 points, Power Level 6 and, well, it allows you to bring a Dreadnought down onto the battlefield, at least 9" away from the enemy. Does what it says on the tin, really

Does anyone know how these units work in armies like Thousand Sons or Space Wolves? The GW index does not list any FW stuff, so I'm just wondering if the FW units can be a <Thousand Sons> unit or do they have to be something else?

Special Character auras only affect certain Chapter Keywords. You can't run them as say an Ultramarine character and expect them to work the same, as they still only buff their own chapter keyword.

You couldn't do that in 7th either. Maybe even 6th.

The way "Chapter Tactics" worked on SCs before had it as a part of the Character's special rule.

Going off on a slight tangent - is the Nurgle Chaos Marine Sorcerer model meant to be Necrosius?

Well if you want to mix chapter rules it falls apart, but there is nothing stopping you painting them as ultramarines and just using the rules for raven guard. I know that Pask can only be used in a Cadian force, yet pretty much everyone uses him in whatever home made regiment they have.

Because it is using the Regiment "tactics", not necessarily the exact regiment. Think how Successor Chapters work with Chapter Tactics in 6th and 7th Edition - they use the same strategies and logistics of their preceding Chapter/Regiment.

Right, but even so, it's not impossible to bring such units in lower point games if one *really* wants, and doesnt excuse the gigantic gap in capabilities either on a fluff or point for point basis.

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

They don't, at least with TSons. The books is nothing but a collection of datasheets. The only other rules they added is for macro weapons and arch-daemonic rituals.
TSons still only have the units that are given to them in the index list. So unless you don't care about some of your list not being real TSons, there is nothing here for you.

Is there any fluff about Thousand Sons vehicles? Are they bound to armour but still driving? Are they bound to the vehicles? I can't say I have ever seen anything about it.

There's no fluff at all in the FW index, not even pictures of what the various units look like. I thought it would be a final product but it looks like I might have to get the book again later down the line? Not sure what their plans are. These index IA are nothing like the ones from past editions.
