It's simply the nature of any developing product. If you buy a 2017 XYZ from the local car dealership and a brand new, far better, updated XYZ is released for 2018...so be it.

I have simply decided in my headcanon that my 10k pts of Dark Angels will not be letting any Primaris join their ranks as they have not been privy to The Hunt over the last 10,000 years and are not worthy of being allowed to know the secrets of the Inner Circle. However I am excited to start collecting Primaris Imperial Fists

GW is a business.
Space Marines are their pilot-product.
Old marines are not being replaced, that does not make any business sense.
If you take your biggest seller and then tell all the users of that product that they are no longer allowed to use their older models( both uses of this term here); then you alienate those customers, who will not purchase your replacement product. They will simply keep using their old ones and the older system for them.
The car analogy is not a good analogy: there are still going to be support options for the 2017 xyz. A closer analog would be if blizzard suddenly shut down the WOW servers, brought out a WOW 2.0 and told their customers that they have to buy the new program, start over with new characters, and pay for the new service instead. They would not have a 100% customer retention; probably less than 50%.
Do not worry; the only way old marines will be completely invalidated is if GW killed off Warhammer 40k for Warhammer 41(or 2)k. Your battles are taking place anywhere within a 1000 year span: girlyman's plans to replace all old marines will have to take place near the middle-to-end of the next millennium, only fully realized by the start of the one after that.

Keep the salt either in the ocean or in the shaker in your kitchen ladies and gents. We know that GW knows that we know that GW cannot always be trusted, but in this case I would say unless you can show where GW is getting rid of models through the new release of books(which we saw in AoS, with the Bretts) I would go with they aren't getting rid of the older marine models. That being said even if for production sake they did stop making those, every RB I have ever seen allows for counts as/plays as why would this be any different? So as I previously stated keep your salt for cooking and get back to painting up those marines so they can get on the field of battle where they belong.

GW said normal marine stuff will be released sometime next year. Why worry.
The primaris have been in development over 3 years. New marine kits have came out in that time. Wont just go away

Because most of us have played more than a few years and lost that"everything gdubs does is awesome" mentality and having seen them gak on their customer base for a decade are justifiably cynical knowing full well its gw planning to force us to buy new armies.

People complaing how their armies are squatted or never put to date...
Space Marines players complaing because their model range, after years and years of receiving kits and redoing the old ones, is receiving AGAIN a bunch of stuff, models, units, etc...
"Force us to buy new marines" what a piece of smelling gak.
NOBODY is forcing you to buy anything. Did GW force Dark Eldar players to buy the new kits? No. They bougth them because they liked them (Or not) and they were awesome (Or not). The same goes for Primaris. Space Marine players have no RIGHT to be cynic about ANYTHING related to miniature and range support! And I'm a Dark Angels player! That receive Snowflake Terminators (That I love) and Snowflake Bikers and Snowflake Land Speeder when you had Chaos Space Marines with the same basic kit for 14 years!
The entitlement of people on the internet is just oustanding. But well. GW has created a mass of spoiled Space Marines players, thats what you receive in return.

Did they squat the model line for old Ogres? Come to think of it I have not seen Leadbelchers around lately.

Hyperbolic but yeah armies have been eliminated in the past it's only newer players that think it could never happen to them.

I can see where people could get upset about size creep. It didn't bother me for 10+ years because I only played Orks. Size plays a major role in their society, the big meks etc got bigger but that just meant they weren't as high up the social ladder in my tribes. Once I started collecting space marines it did start to irk me more since they're meant to be more uniform. In the end I'll just roll with the punches like I have since the 90s. I mean hell I skipped 5th edition entirely because I thought 4th was a better ruleset, I can figure out a way to have fun with smaller models.

I'm not sure that space marines will be replaced but I do think there is a valid point in worrying that the numarines will be the only new kits released for any sort of marines.
This in theory forces you to start buying them if you want a change of pace for your army. If this does become the norm then an army like GK might not see much love in the way sisters havent.
I know for me the biggest issue is it makes my newly purchased Grey knights look like babies when the primaris marines are what all marines should look like from a lore standpoint. That is i assume a big problem for those who are upset about the new marines.

It was intended as such; I guess you didn't catch the half-arsed attempt to reference a famous poem by Martin Niemoller:
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
I suppose it could have been:
First they came for the Squats, and I did not speak out—
Because I thought the model line ugly and overwrought.
Then they came for the Chaos Dwarfs, and I did not speak out—
Because I hadn't played them in so long.
Then they came for the Brettonians, and I did not speak out—
Because there were already tons of knights elsewhere.
Then they came for my Ogres—and there was no one left to speak for me.

New Marines are garbage. The only squad with potential are the hellblasters. The best use of New marines i've seen is to plant them on an objective in cover. They have a 30" threat range for shooting, and will have 10 wounds on a 2+ save, making them somewhat sticky to hold that spot.

No more Great Maw, the pitiful descendants of the great Ogre hordes now are left to worship Gorkamorka. They killed anything that made them unique and left them as a sub-faction of Orcs.
